Historic Pub Tour
It's a unique tour in which you will explore traditional London pubs and their special stories. A great chance to socialize and have a relaxed drink in each place.
Things to do Historic Pub Tour
London has many excellent traditional pubs serving a good range of drinks and serving good food but also many very historic pubs, some haunted! On this tour we visit five of these historic pubs, each with its own unique atmosphere to take you back in time. To get the best from each pub it is best to have a relaxed drink and if you wish we give you plenty of time to do this and of course in the past pub you are welcome to stay and enjoy as we finish very close to a tube station. We start in a pub where Queen Elizabeth I is said to have danced around a tree then later a pub where time stands still! We visit a pub rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1666 and a favourite of Dr Johnson, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain etc and was once a brothel and we finish in an exceptional Art Deco pub that reminds us of the area’s history using marble and copper. I have purposely kept the group small as a couple of pubs are small but often busy, so giving time to get served. Hopefully everyone will have an enjoyable social evening and see some of London’s amazing history while doing so.

“A True Gem”
10 stars for John's Historic Pub Tour. John is a most knowledgeable guide and will give you a true local's tour of some of the oldest pubs in London. This was one of the best historic walking tours I've ever done. Be prepared to learn a lot, have great conversations with other tour members, and drink some great beer! The tour is open to a limited number so don't wait to register. Thank you, John. I hope to see you again next time I visit.

“Nobody beats Jack Daniel!”
John Daniel’s tour is a cathedra on history, architecture, sociology, and all social studies put together. It is an accomplished holistic approach to see London’s society throughout time in a setting as relaxed as it is enjoyable…The kind of ambience only a local sherpa can provide. This is not an optional walking tour to get to see London, but a must-do for beer-lovers and non-drinkers as well.
When I joined John Daniel’s pub tour, I did not know I had signed up for a degree cathedra!

“Fun night out ”
We had the best time with John and our fellow travelers. He was so kind and amazing and knew so many historic facts about the city and the pubs. “Great solo pub tour”
I found out I was the only one who had signed up for the tour that evening but John graciously showed up and made me discover several pubs which all had very different vibes, decor and character with locations sometimes not very obvious. Only someone who knows the area well would know. The beer he recommended was very nice. He even took time to show me at the end of the tour where to catch my train the following day. Thanks again John for the enjoyable tour.

I had an amazing time with John on the Historic Pub Tour! It was informative, exciting, humorous, and well worth a booking. While the variety of pubs and beer suggestions were spot on, my favorite thing about the tour was how well balanced it was in conversation. John touched on history, culture, current events, literature, and architecture, just to mention a few topics. He was ready to answer any questions I had and willing to follow the strands that came up, not simply his own plan. This tour is not a "paint-by-numbers" walk; John knows his stuff and adjusts to the interests of the group. I'll be booking again on my next visit to London! Wow!
