This free tour will transport you back to Victorian London. We will explore the most dangerous alleyways that, in the 19th century, were the crime scenes of gruesome murders committed by this still unidentified serial killer.
The walking tour begins in the Tower Hill area and continues in Whitechapel, which was sadly known as the ‘Doors to Hell’ during that era. The darkness of a late evening enhances the experience, allowing you to immerse yourself in the gloomy atmosphere. Combined with the excellent acting skills of our guides, you will feel totally engaged and absorbed. Who was he? Some believe he was a doctor, others a butcher. What do you think? Be a detective for a day and use our clues to build your own theory! Here is a preview of our itinerary: -We will start outside Tower Gateway DLR Station. -We will explore the alleyways of Whitechapel. -We will stop behind the Chamberlain Pub to revisit the night of August 31st, 1888. -We will stop outside St. Botolph Church, a religious site, for about 1000 years. -We will discuss Catherine Eddows‘ murder at Mitre Square -We will stop by Goulston Street, where The Ripper took a piece of Catherine Eddows’ blood-stained apron. -We will see Jack The Clipper barber shop on Toynbee Street. -We will walk on Puma Court, the location of Annie Chapman‘s encounter with an unknown gentleman. -We will end the tour at Spitalfields Market.
