With the whale watching season in Kalpitiya being in full swing and many local and foreign tourists gathering to the Kalpitia City, The Sri Lanka Coast Guards had increased their vigilance in monitoring the implementation of Sea Mammals Observation.
The Kalpitiya peninsula whale sightings have only become more prominent in the past since ten years or so, with whales diving to try their luck at catching a giant squid. If you’re lucky, there’s a chance you might see a magnificent blue whale, too. Most trips start at sunrise and can last up to 7 hours. The best time to visit is outside the monsoon season, when the sea should be at its calmest. We leave at 7 am to watch the Whales. You must arrive before that. First, we go to see the Whales. If the sea is clear, we can see the Coral Reef in the Kalpitiya Peninsula. After that, you may take a smim and see the wonders of the Islands. Join us to experience this. 4 people per 1 Boat.
