“Recomendable? Sí lo digo. ”
Primero felicitar a Paula que hasta con un catarro de dos pares nos hizo un tour de categoría! La ruta dura 1:45min y se hace muy amena ya que cuenta muchas cosas sin profundizar, pero sirve para enterarte de cuatro curiosidades, patear un poco el centro y conocer algún que otro rincón que no sale en los vlogs. O sea, que muy guay.

Éramos un grupo muy reducido, pero a pesar de eso la guía continuó con el tour. Paula hizo que el paseo fuese muy ameno, distendido e interesante, mezclando la parte histórica con datos curiosos, leyendas e historias más truculentas que, al ser un tour de noche, le daban el toque y ambientación perfecto!! Con el tour a demás de ver las principales atracciones turísticas y monumentos, nos enseñó detalles y lugares que igual pasarían más desapercibidos si no haces el tour, además de muchas recomendaciones de sitios extra que ver, lugares para comer y probar cervezas.
En resumen, súper recomendado!!!

“A fanciful time!”
A good overview of the major buildings and attractions of Ghent in a couple of hours. But a lot of the commentary from the guide was a bit fanciful and frivolous. While it gave an insight into the history of this lovely town, there was no information given about the setting such as dynasties and dates (not even the century). Hence it sounded less authentic and more like a fairy tale. Also our guide did not make any effort to shepherd the flock together. In fact we got detached from the group and couldn't find them to finish the tour with them. And we found our way back to our hotel on our own!

“A waste of time ”
We’ve been to perhaps 20 tours in different European cities and countries, and this is the first time we left before the end. The first stop was on a bridge with traffic and pedestrians going by, so the ambient noise made it impossible to hear. The guide moved on and walked so fast it was impossible to keep up. Almost lost him, and when we located him it was again difficult to hear, but not as bad. From what we could hear, the tour wasn’t about discovering hidden Ghent secrets, but about medieval torture and punishment. Definitely not our thing.

“Interesting evening walk”
A nice complement to the standard touristy leaflet stuff, the guide (Kenny, I think) skillfully gave us a tour through the gruesome history of Ghent. The thing I liked most about it was that it complemented my own knowledge of Dutch history (the Dutch Golden age was apparently partly the product of wealthy and talented Belgians fleeing Flanders due to Spanish suppression), but the stories were fun too and the guide did his best to involve the group. Definitely recommended for adults who like history and like a nice alternative walk through the city...

Unfortunately, we were the only ones to show up for the tour and there was a five person minimum. Kenny gave us an abbreviated tour that was delightful. He was charming, helpful and full of interesting facts. He posted the way for us to do the part of the tour he didn’t show us on our own. He was just great!!!

“Fabulous! Evening tour in Gent is really special”
Guide Kenny explained the „dark site“ of Gent almost in a professional actor‘s manner. It was a great time (2h) to stroll around within backyard quarters and streets. On top you get an overview of the historical challenges of this city during the times, why the Spanish times have not been fun and the Gents do not like Keizer Karl at all. You will be impressed and well entertained.

Myself and my wife did the Ghent Night Walk on the 26th June with Isabell, and I have to say it was by far the best walking tour we have ever done. She was so polite, charming, bubbly, Knowledgeable, funny and full of enthusiasm which made the tour go so quickly. Our most unexpected surprise was Isabell told us she had only started the tours a short time ago, she came across with manner of professionalism, that we thought she had been doing these tours for years. At the end of the tour when the tips were been handed out we wanted to give more than what we were originally going to give, but we had no more money on us, (sorry Isabell) so we felt a bit bad. If you do a walking tour with Isabell you will be in for a 2hr treat.

If you’re interested in history this is the tour for you. Isabelle was enthusiastic and a very knowledgeable guide despite the rain. A full 2 hours of history, facts and gory details through the ages of Ghent.
No beer stops but a QR code available at the end of the tour for a free beer and other discounts around the city.

We had a very informative and lively guide for our free walking tour of Gent.. she showed us around the main parts of the city, with some of the lesser known parts thrown in. She regaled us with many stories detailing the highs, the lows and the thrills & spills of the city’s history with a big focus on some of the more gorier details from Gent’s medieval past ( it was the night tour, after all!).

“The best way to start a trip in Ghent”
Absolutely recommended tour especially during spring! We went in early May, so the tour was around sunset time and the city was glowing!
Izabelle, the guide who browsed us around the city has a profound knowledge and understanding of the urban landscape of Ghent and its development, and multiple stories to share! She was an excellent guide, adaptable to the needs of the group and, although the tour was entertaining, it was equally full of content! We didn't realize how 2 hours passed and we will definitely get back to Ghent to uncover more intriguing stories!
