Chiara gave a us a 2 hour tour of Florence. She taught us the history of the city and some of its most famous artists, such as Michelangelo, and explained the significance of many of the sculptures that we passed. Riccardo is a good guide of Florence. He knows so much but had trouble organizing his ideas at times. It would have been better if we had a map of where we went so we could go back to some places to spend more time. He was very attentive to where everyone in the group was especially with traffic and crowded areas.

“Critical take from a local”
Riccardo quickly found out that some people in the group had previously informed themselves about the city, which he mockingly addressed in his tour, that some people already knew a lot. We could ask him questions about different aspects of life in Florence, which was helpful. As our tour was only a highlights tour, it was good. If you have been to Florence already or are familiar with the major sights there, maybe book his advanced tour.

I will be coming back for sure! The tour very educative and laced with humor (we couldn't stop laughing). Our guide, Riccardo, gave us his unbiased opinion and took us through beautiful alleys and to all the main attractions recounting stories of the families, the history and the communities, past and present. I met wonderful people on the tour and really felt the warmth of Florence (despite nearly freezing to my bones because of the rain and wind).
As a first time traveler in Florence, I would recommend booking this tour as your introductory activity before you branch out and explore on your own. Trust me, you'll see the city in a whole new light afterwards ????
P.S: It was Riccardo's parent's 50th marriage anniversary, so cheers to them! ????
