The houses and public buildings they built in Fafe created today's historic city center. When we talk about Brazilian architecture, we mean the tiled façades that are so famous in Portugal.
On this guided tour, we'll see the public and civil buildings created with the money of emigrants and also realize how to identify the main characteristics of this type of architecture so that you can then recognize it in other parts of identify it in other parts of Portugal.
We're not going to look just for houses. Since the emigrants transformed the landscape of our city in its entirety, their money created public buildings, such as a Hospital, a Church, a Public Garden, and a Theatre. We also have a house in Fafe that received an illustrious visit: the king of Portugal.
