“A good introduction to Santiago; Check out their tour of Yungay ”

Miguel was knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests, since there were only 2 of us. Two more dropped out after the guide told them the tour wasn't free. I felt terrible for the guide and embarrassed that people who pay top $ to eat out and stay at fancy hotels cannot spare $15 for a 2.5-hour tour with local guides. These guides pay their bills with the tips. The company doesn't pay them for their work, and many are passionate about sharing what they know with others. Also, don't miss the other tour, which focuses on art and culture offered by Roots and Routes. If you are lucky like me, you will get Elias. I am posting it here because the site malfunctioned and I couldn't complete my review.

“Santiago free walking tour”

The tour was interesting and the guide gave us lots of information as we saw each building. We felt that some of the places we wouldn’t have discovered without the tour guide do this was useful. Unfortunately the guide was unhappy with our tip and asked for more, implying it was a minimum amount expected. He subsequently sent an unpleasant msg after we had left saying it was rude to have given the tip we did. Our experience previously has been to tip or not and you decide without pressure

I know this is a new tour, so I’m writing this review as constructive criticism. Provide high level information, add relatable information with local perspective. Make it lighter, shorter, and more fun! It was a bit too much! The guide meant well but it was too much at times! Also asking for 15,000-20,000 pesos will not make this tour competitive.
