On the Free Edinburgh Ghost Tour, we discover the disturbing stories hidden in Edinburgh's Royal Mile, from its narrow and dark alleys to the emblematic Canongate cemetery. Don't miss this summary of the dark history of the city of Edinburgh, where ghosts, murderers, body snatchers, witches, and even Satan himself will accompany us as we walk through the narrow streets of the old part. This overpopulated area after the Industrial Revolution offered a very low quality of life, which accentuated the belief in legends, some of them truly cruel and bloody. This, mixed with layers of Celtic culture and popular legends, was the perfect breeding ground for developing a city that hid from the law and created its own micro-universe. *This tour is not recommended for children under 5 years old due to the themes addressed during the visit.

The tour took a while to get off the ground, but
Not surprising given one of the biggest festivals was going on right there! The tour got better as we moved away from the Royal Mile. We made it to the cemetery & the stories also got better, but perhaps there were too many distractions at the beginning.

The info she was providing was a bit more general. We did another free tour the next day on the history of Edinburgh that told us more about ghosts than this one.

“UN PASEO FANTÁSTICO E IMPRESCINDIBLE ”
Desde antes de dar el primer paso, ya estábamos encantadas por la simpatía y la gracia de la guía Almudena, parte fundamental para que todo el tour fuera un encanto. Este paseo de dos horas, y de noche, es fundamental para conocer los secretos de la ciudad. Fueron dos horas fantásticas!! Gracias!!????????

I had the best time with Ollie and the group yesterday. The tour was really fun (and spooky :) and we got to hear some great stories about Edinburgh. Ollie is a really sweet and interesting guy who tells stories in a truly immersive way. I didn’t even see the time pass! He also made sure to talk at least a little bit with everyone in the group, which was really nice. The city got more interesting after this tour and I’m truly grateful for this. Thank you !
