Free Tour of Dresden: Its History through its Buildings

Discover the history of this wonderful city! My name is Alexander and I am pleased to offer to guide you through the history, culture and architectural beauty of this fascinating city. During our tour, strolling through its cobblestone streets, we will explore Dresden's most iconic sights. We will start at the Schlossplatz square and then continue to the Theaterplatz where you will find architectural gems such as the Semper Opera House and the majestic Hofkirche cathedral. I will tell you the fascinating history of these buildings, and how they have stood the test of time. We will continue our way to the splendid Zwinger Palace, a masterpiece of baroque art. And then, walking through its streets, we will pass the Kulturpalast, the ResidenzSchloss (Residential Palace) and the world's largest porcelain mosaic, "The Parade of Princes". And we will finish at the Neumarkt in Dresden, where the history of the bombing of Dresden will be explained through the history of the Frauenkirche.
