Discover the History of Chania

This was the most informative historical tour/walking tour we have experienced in many years of taking this kind of tour. Luca was very informative and showed his love of history.

This tour with Luca far exceeded any expectations I could have had in relation to learning about Chania and its history. Luca, you were filled with knowledge and passion about the history of this place. Perfect English, with little side stories and "but wait... there's more" moments. You have a gift for imparting history in a fun way. ????????

Lucca did an amazing job explaining the history of the Island in a way that hold the attention and time went very fast. Lucca is a knowledable guide who loves what he is doing. He is really giving his best to make the tour interesting with small stories and his good mood. I would recommend him to my friends who are for the first time in Chania, like I was. Unfortunately, this walking tour fell far below expectations. Right from the start, there was a noticeable disconnect between the guide and the group, likely due to their lack of experience. This led to many awkward silences and uncomfortable moments throughout the tour, which felt unnecessarily long given the content provided. The information shared was disappointingly basic. I had hoped for engaging, in-depth insights about the island and its people, but instead, we were met with vague, generalized facts. For instance, the descriptions of the architecture were limited to broad terms like "Byzantine" or "Venetian," without any interesting details or explanations. There was no sense of passion or personal connection to the place—just dry historical facts that seemed to come from a couple of hastily read books. The only truly engaging part of the tour was the brief moment when the guide shared a myth about the Minotaur, which brought a rare bit of humor to an otherwise flat experience. However, one good moment wasn’t enough to salvage the rest of the tour. Ultimately, having the idea of "holidays as a life project" isn't enough to make someone a great tour guide. A guide needs to have real charisma, knowledge, and enthusiasm for their subject—traits that can't be replaced by wearing a bandana and flip-flops. This tour lacked all of that.

Luca was very knowledgeable but tempered his vast array of knowledge to his group. His fun stories kept us engaged for the duration of the tour. One could tell he loved his topic & had so much more information on the history of Chania and Crete . Great tour.
