Things to do Free Tour of the Upper Town of Bergamo

From the Gate of San Giacomo, we will make a short historical introduction of the origin of Bergamo, and enjoy the views, we will go up to the Shoemakers Market to learn about the history of the funicular. We will go up to the Fortress of the Rock, where the park and the views towards the Orobic Pre Alps. In Via Gambito your mouth will be watering with so much delicious food, until you reach one of the most important squares, the imposing Piazza Vecchia, surrounded by beautiful buildings such as the Angelo Mai Library, the Palazzo del Potestà, the Palazzo della Ragione and the tower known for il "Campanone" that every night plays 100 times in echoes of the past. And of course, in Piazza Duomo you will marvel at the Baptistery, the Colleoni Chapel, the Basilica of St. Alexander and the Duomo. And finally we will see the Torre di Adaberto and the Viscontea Citadel of the lords of Milan. As for Bergamo's gastronomy, we will see the famous Casoncelli, the sweet Polenta e Osei, the Stracciatella ice cream, and lots of cheese with excellent wine.
