Things to do Discover Arta, a Hidden Gem of History
We will start our tour at Saint Demetrius (Agios Dimitrios) Church, a popular meeting point for locals. From there, we will walk to the city’s castle (5 minutes). After that, we will visit two churches: Agia Theodora and Panagia Paregoritissa. Depending on the time and day, if the churches are open, we will also explore their interiors.
On our way to the second church, we will see the ruins of the ancient Temple of Apollo and a small ancient theater. Our walk will continue until we reach the famous Bridge of Arta. Along the way, we will pass local shops and the statue of "Tsolias."
When we arrive at the bridge, we will admire this breathtaking architectural masterpiece and uncover the story of a "human sacrifice" during its construction.
