Things to do Walking Tour Through Trulli: Stories Legends & Curiosities
The excursion to Alberobello includes a visit to the Trulli district. You will enter a rustic and private trullo, where you can see the trullo structure from the inside.
Alberobello is located in Puglia, an hour's drive from Bari. It is a town famous for its trullo-shaped houses. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and is a place that impresses all visitors.
A trullo is a square-shaped building with a cone-shaped roof. Built without enamel to be quickly destroyed if needed. All it took was to throw a stone to make the dwellings collapse like a house of cards.
The impetus to build the trullo-shaped houses came from the count of the Acquaviva d'Aragona family. During their rule over Apulian lands, there were good and bad counts who treated their peasants badly.
You will see the structure and the stone that is quarried to destroy the trullo, and learn the secrets of the structure's construction, which manages to reach the present day without any ill-gotten gains.
Upon request, a tasting of wines and typical Apulian products can be arranged in the trullo.
This tour has a fixed price. It is not a free tour.
