The pick-up will be at 9:30 a.m. at the hotel. First, we will see the Jameh Mosque, in the historic center of Yazd. It is the oldest building of its kind in Iran. It stands out for its tall minarets, its elevated doorway and the numerous tiles that decorate its façade.
After this, we will visit the Amir Chakhmaq Complex, a structure well known for its symmetrical sunken alcoves. The complex also houses a caravansary, a tekieh, a public bath, a cold water well and a sweet shop.
Walking through the city we will find the Alexander prison, built in the s. XV. A poem by Hafez recounts that the famous Alexander the Great had one of his dungeons built, although this story is quite doubtful from what historians say.
We will have lunch in a restaurant with a local and friendly atmosphere, serving delicious Persian and traditional food.
Afterwards we will head to visit the Zoroastrian Fire Temple as one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world.
We will end this Yazd day tour at Dowlat Abad Garden.
