This was one of, if not THE, most compelling walking tours I have ever taken. I have taken many over the years (I am 67). It was not only informative, but also very moving.
Our guide provided a basic framework for understanding the history of the jewish people in Vienna. He told us the role that key figures played in the story, including of course Adolf Hitler. I found it profoundly moving.

Our guide was outstanding. We had a 2 hour tour full of fascinating history delivered in a very clear and interesting manner by Lukas including a section on his personal family history. In spite of the freezing weather he kept us moving and interested throughout. He has a wonderful loud and clear voice and his English is excellent. Very highly recommended

It was a great tour, but we especially enjoyed Lucas: we have been througout europe this past week, attending multiple free tours, and we both agreed that Lucas was the best we’ve had by far. He made the tour really interesting and personal thanks to his ability to communicate, all the information that he clearly mastered, but specially the passion with which he shared it.

“A very moving tour ”
The guide seemesd to be quite balanced in it's presentation. And I was gratefully surprised to not find the typical anti soviet / anti comunist discourse.
The personal involvement of the guide by his family history added another layer of grounding to the tour.
Nevertheless, given the mainstream orientación of the jewish community as portrayed un the visited sites, a pro-Israel one, the tour tended to reproduce that political viewpoint.
For example, in the same location there where memorial of a hamas terrorist atack, an isis atack and a very old progrom.
This presentation tended to present every conflict as more of the same.
Tus being said, the guide por pointed out the constant "paint atacks" to Hertzl's plaque.
There si no neutrality posible, and there wasnt, but there was a clear intention of abstaining from propagandistic or over symplified ideological propositions by the guide which is very valuable (and rare).
Than you Lucas.

“Incredibly Informative”
It is rare that I review anything online. However, I had to on this occasion, as it is one of the best tours I have been on in a while. Our guide, Lukas, was very knowledgeable about minor details that aren’t found in history books. He also paved the tour very well, so we knew what was coming next, and so we could have a chance to process the information. I believe this tour includes all of the sites found on the other tours. I recommend it to anyone (and already have) who already has a basic understanding of the holocaust (we were on a tour with a child who kept stopping us to ask very basic questions, such as ‘what is a concentration camp’. This wasn’t the tour for that level of learning. But, Lukas handled it very well). Overall, 5 stars!

“An excellent overview of a horrible period of time”
We joined Marc on his tour, as we have limited knowledge of how Hitler came to power, and wished to learn more of the details surrounding that time. Marc was extremely well informed and knowledgeable. He handled a very large group (40+?) with ease and a loud, broadcasting voice. He explained the issues well and did not try to sanitize the horror of the time. All questions were answered completely. Excellent tour!
