Join a free tour of Sucre with a motivated beginner guide. Explore the Plaza 25 de Mayo and other must-sees, while chatting in French in a friendly atmosphere.
The tour is completely free, with no strings attached. I'm simply looking to interact with French speakers to practice my French while sharing a bit of my city's culture. The tour begins at Plaza 25 de Mayo, in the heart of the city. We'll take a short tour of the surrounding area ("Casco Viejo"):
- Casa de la Libertad
- Casa de la Cultura
- Cathedral Basilica
- National Library
- Plazuela Cochabamba
We then head for the central market, one of the most important. On the way, we'll take a look at the Temple of St. Francis of Assisi and the Alliance Française. Once you've arrived at the central market, you can enjoy some vitamin-packed fruit juices to recharge your batteries (optional). Finally, you'll have the chance to visit the "El Patio" dining room, where you can sample one of Sucre's most typical and emblematic dishes: salteña (again, tasting is entirely optional). Alternatively, we'll visit the Pasaje Santa Teresa, next to the convent, a place steeped in history and mystery. If you're still hungry, you can try the famous Santa Clara empanadas prepared in the church of the same name.
