Driving 32 kilometers to the southwest of Skardu, you will find yourself in the middle of beautiful mountains, lush green valleys, snow capped peaks, beautiful villages, splendorous hills, and instantly changing weather conditions. This is Deosai. Your experience will get an extra boost by the beauty and natural offerings of the Deosai National Park and the Sheosar Lake.

The weather is extremely volatile. For a minute you would see sunlight and then suddenly clouds would start to play hide and seek, and then the rain would suddenly start pouring.

Deosai, situated 4000 meters above sea level, remained unexplored for centuries because it was believed to be the kingdom of some supernatural forces; hence it got the name “The Land of the giants.” Little did humans knew that the supernatural forces was in fact nature working at its full capacity, uninterrupted and undeterred by the fast paced, machine-like life of human beings.

Deosai Plateau connects Baltistan region with Astore Valley. It boasts a rich wildlife, including the very rare Himalayan Brown Bear. The Deosai National Park is now a sanctuary for diverse wildlife. Moreover, the valley is popular for its diversity of beautiful flowers, and streams of crystal clear water.
