¿Qué tal el tour?: ¿Qué tour? El tour del Dublin inexistente, no ha aparecido el guía y nadie ha avisado a las personas que estábamos esperando. Una poca vergüenza grandísima, ya que hemos dejado de hacer otras cosas para asistir al tour. Si un cliente hace eso le ponéis mala puntuación, pues un 0 enorme para vosotros. Lo único bueno es que me he ahorrado el dinero que os iba a dar.

I recently had the pleasure of joining the "Rebellion & Independence (North Side)" by Yellow Umbrella Tours, and it was a very nice experience! Our guide, Martin, was exceptional. He has a remarkable ability to tell history in a captivating narrative, making it engaging rather than dry. Martin brought to life the rich history and pivotal events that shaped the area. We explored significant historical sites and learned about key figures in the struggle for independence. The pace was perfect, and the small group size allowed for personalized attention and ample opportunities to ask questions. Highly recommended not just to history enthusiasts, but also for those who like good stories! This was already my third tour with Yellow Umbrella Tours, and I have enjoyed every single one of them.

“Different but necessary tour”
This is not the tour that shows you the principal points of interest of the city, but rather a historic one. The tour covers just the last century (and a bit more) and gives a good insight on the political issues of Ireland throughout the 20th century, starting with the Easter Rise of 1916. I really enjoyed the part that follows the steps of the rebels meter by meter, it really gave the idea of the mood of those days! The guide (I think it was James, I don't recall the name sorry) was great, able to answer even very specific questions and giving a fair point of view of what he was talking about. He also took the time after the tour to help me understand how to reach Newgrange the next day.
I've already recommended this tour to some friends!

This is/was not your standard "welcome to the city" tour. It was very specific regarding the events from approximately 100 years ago....I knew very little about the history of that event before taking the tour and extremely glad I participated.

“Informative and fairly balanced tour”
As a 'Northerner' on Easter Tuesday which is such a 'historic' day it was good to hear a fairly factual and balanced tour with only minimal 'personal' opinion. Really interesting aspects of the area pointed out that one would otherwise walk past. Pity that Moore St has so few 'historic' fruit and vege stall holders left. Dont hear the 'ring' of paper boys out in the streets any more but thats progress. Apols for not remembering guide's name (needs a badge). Would recommend this tour.

“An immersive and subversive History lesson”
James was absolutely amazing. He explained the Easter Uprising, providing a deep historical context of the 19th and 20th centuries in Ireland (the Famine, Home Rule, World War I...). James was an excellent guide. Incredibly knowledgeable, articulate and witty. Learned a lot of intricate details of Irish independence and history which despite years of interest and reading I wasn't aware of. For instance that the Romans never got here (or wanted to) and thus Gaelic culture survived unlike in other places in Europe. And the moving song and story Grace - I never knew of it. Captivating, superb and with an optimistic and moving finale at the end by the statue of James Connolly. Superb!
