Things to do Amsterdam: The World's Playground
My name is Dominika, and I am in love with Amsterdam. I moved here ten years ago. You will never meet anyone more obsessed with the city than I am. I am a language teacher, a content creator, and a podcaster. I've been showing life in Amsterdam on my social media for years. My podcast about Amsterdam is loved by my Polish audience. Now I want to show you around the city. Amsterdam is a very special city - it has always been very open and tolerant, but at the same time protective of its residents. I want to show you why the people of Amsterdam are bold and confident, what kind of life they lead today, and why. We will talk about the famous tolerance and openness that Amsterdam is famous for. I would love to tell you about all those events in the past that shaped the city as it is today. Why do so many people come here to play, and what are the consequences? I will also tell you about the current problems we're struggling with. Keep in mind, the walk contains topics, such as slavery, sex work and lgbtq+ rights. Make sure - if you're booking for children - that you're ok with this kind of content.

Dominika what a really good guide. I learned a lot about this city and the atmosphere was from the beginning in really great. She was allowing the people to share additional stories or thoughts which made the whole guide more immersive. It felt like a good and fascinating talk instead of blunt lecturing. She was helpful with information besides the general education. For example for people who came with the bike. Because of the fact that there were a lot of questions our tour took a bit longer. I really appreciate that she was not rushing it and just wanted to make sure that everyone is okay with the rour being prolonged fir another 30 minutes. We really enjoyed our morning walking round Amsterdam with Dominika (although the fact the sun came out helped a bit).
She was full of entertaining stories about the city and gave so much information in her talks that there were few questions left to ask.
She was friendly and approachable and always checking on our wellbeing, ensuring we all kept together and out of the way of bikes and cars.

I needed something to do for an afternoon while the friend that I was visiting was working. I found this tour that was 3 hours long. It was perfect! I learned a lot about the city and got a really great feel for the areas that I wanted to come back to and explore on my own. I have taken multiple tours in Paris, Munich, & Prague, and Dominika here in Amsterdam on this tour was my absolute favorite. We were a small group since it was on a Tuesday, so it felt a lot more personalized and we got to know each other better. I am recommending this tour to my two friends who recently move to Amsterdam.
