Just 30 minutes from Beijing, Tianjin awaits you with its fascinating coastal legacy. Discover the hidden history of the capital's "great defender" on a unique tour. Explore its architecture and Chinese soul on a journey that few know about.
On this tour we will walk through the city of Tianjin in search of clues from the past that will help us better understand China's empires, beliefs and practices, as we approach its importance in the last century.
We start our route from the origin of this city, the Haihe canal at its bifurcation, which will lead us to Beijing or south to Hangzhou. Here we will visit a military fort as well as a nearby Buddhist temple. We will learn a little about the Ming and Qing dynasties, the last in power, and then continue our journey into the future.
We will visit a local Chinese market and, if time permits, have lunch there. We will then drive to Xiaobailou, in the heart of Tianjin's financial center. Beyond the modern buildings, we will tour the surroundings of the old European concessions, where we will better understand the history while enjoying local food along the way.
In the evening we will return to the Haihe River, where we will finish with a relaxing view, enjoying the jovial and unique atmosphere of the place. I hope you will be encouraged.
