Hello adventurer! It's Gleb and Stas here, and we're happy that you're coming to the cosy town of Tartu in south Estonia. We'll take you through the town centre, tell the big story of such a small city, and share some hints on what to see more!

Warm greetings, Adventurer. I'm Stas, your local guide in Tartu. I've been living in Estonia for 8 years. I'm healthily obsessed with Tartu and love Estonia (even Tallinn… on a good day in the summer). My tour includes the history of Tartu and Estonia with visuals, some street art, a few of my stories, one ghost story, and even a conspiracy theory from Tartu! I prefer small groups to build connections and tell jokes all the time. About the tour: Tartu is a small town with just over 100K inhabitants in the south of Estonia. How come Germans, Danes, Muscovites, Swedes, Poles, and Lithuanians were all fighting for this territory? How did a world top-300-ranked university end up here? What was life like for students and townspeople 200, 500, or even 800 years ago? On my tour, you'll hear how Estonia came to be despite all odds, and how Estonians truly stand behind: "Olukord on sitt, kuid see on meie tuleviku väetis". P.S. As I have small group flexibility, I invite you to share how I can make this tour better for you! Feel free to tell me your wishes before the tour! P.S.S. “Informative and entertaining!”
I bought this for my mom’s birthday while visiting Estonia and Stanislav was so kind and informative. Learned so much about Tartu and got to see some beautiful sights! Def recommend to anyone visiting

“Perfect winter tour”
Stas turned up on time and introduced himself warmly to us. It was just the two of us for a snowy winter tour to walk around Tartu. Despite the minus 10'C tempretures, the sunshine and peanut sweets from Stas helped us feel welcome to a city that has seen so much violence and met that challenge with art and love. Stas intertwines history, politics, culture, art and jokes while stood around some of the main historical attractions and monuments. He has a folder which has many interesting old photographs and paintings. He asked us what we wanted to focus on and else about and was able to reflect that in his stories. We're looking forward to coming back to Estonia in the summer and enjoying his company again.

The tour with Stanislav was really nice and informative. He told a lot of story's and insights about Tartu and it's history. For some story's he showed us pictures for example of the old town before second World War. He was really friendly and interested in all the Persons of the free group. He also offered the opportunity for special things the group is interested in and giving recommendations for what to do oder where to eat/drink something.
I could really recommend the tour with Stanslav. His own passion and interest in the city and the country passes overreally quickly to the listener.

We didn’t know much about Tartu, however, our time spent with Stanislav showed that he was entertaining, passionate, and incredibly knowledgeable about his adopted home. We loved our tour with Stas! From the moment we were first in touch with questions of our booking to after our tour Stas has a wealth of information and recommendations for us as well as for our next stop in Tallinn! The tour is well curated and Stas brings a genuine friendly energy and humor into his tours. A great mix of facts and stories without feeling oversaturated with information. The tour was really well curated to see a lot around the city and understand it's history as well as to get a local's perspective. Great to do this tour on the first day you are in town to get you oriented and Stas was a cook guy to meet! The tour group we had a a smaller size which also made for an extra special experience. “A very cold but interesting walk through Tartu”
We could definitively sense Stanislav's ethusiasm for Tartu's and Estonian history from the start. He was very knowledgeable and could answer pretty much all our questions. The only thing he could have done better would be to engage with his audience on a more personal level. The history lesson was informative but we would have liked to learn more on the local culture, politics or economics. If you're into history then Stanislav is your guy!

“Best tour in Estonia”
Stas is an amazing guide that really wants to connect to the participants. He started the tour with asking us about our interests and how he could make the tour better for us. With that knowledge he tailored the tour to our interests while still covering all the major sights.
The tour felt shortlived but thorough. While walking between the sights Stas took the initiative to ask some questions to the participants. That way, we felt like a group of friends at the end.
Overall I had the feeling that Stas was doing this mainly for fun and not for the money.

we had a very good tour with Stans on Saturday and we loved specially his sense of humor ;-).
I have a funny story to add: I have a blog on facebook (for family and friends) and all of sudden I got today a reply from one girlfriend, that her Grandfather was 1941 in Tartu and he brought back a travel guide from 1937. If you are interested, please send me a mailadress where I can add this guide as a pdf-file, it is of course in German, but maybe it is of interest for Stans.

A very good choice to walk around Tartu with Stanislav. It way informative, funny and very good to understand. Even when you might think you’re not that capable of speaking English, I would highly recommend this guide.

“Wonderful guide!”
Stas was amazing, friendly, well informed, sensitive and also super welcoming and understanding. We mixed up the dates of the booked tour and he still welcomed us, helped to carry our baby's stroller down the stairs. The tour itself was really interesting, we were not bored for a second, he also researches a lot, but is able to point out intesesting pieces of information. He is so educated about everything else, not only Tartu, that it has been an absolute pleasure to be in this group. And we did really understand why he was in love with Tartu. His stories made our further walks different in a good way. Thank you so much!

“One of the best tour guides ever!”
We do 10-15 walking tours each year and the one with Stanislav in Tartu was one of the best ones in a long time. He is very friendly, has a good sense of humor and his pride in his city really shows through. Our tour ended up going almost 45 minutes longer than planned but it was as fun and interesting in the 3rd hours as it was in the 1st. Highly recommend this tour and this guide.
