Things to do Discover the charms of Stans on foot

Our tour starts at the Stans train station, from where we visit the most emblematic places of this charming Swiss city: - Stanserhornbahn (1893): one of the first funicular railways in Europe, connecting to the Stanserhorn mountain, offering breathtaking panoramic views. - Dorfplatz and the monument to Arnold Winkelried, a legendary Swiss hero symbolizing the sacrifice for freedom. - St. Peter and Paul's Cathedral: an architectural jewel of the early baroque. - Local viewpoint: from where the mountainous landscapes of Nidwalden can be appreciated. - Capuchin Monastery: a place of tranquility and spirituality with centuries of history. - St. Fidelis College, where there is a majestic redwood tree that is more than 150 years old. - Schmidgasse and the oldest house in town, built in 1843, reflecting the traditional architecture of Stans.
