Soweto History & Lifestyle Tour

1. We meet at the Soweto Hotel located at the national heritage site known as Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication to learn about the signing of the Freedom Charter. 2. We will take a walk around the community of Kliptown, a deprived area of Soweto, and also visit a local project to interact with the children. 3. We will visit the Orlando Towers, one of the tallest landmarks of Soweto, formerly used for coal-fired power stations. The towers are now used for adventure sports such as bungee Jumping, paintball, and free fall. 4. We will visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial. The Hector Pieterson Museum is a large museum located in Orlando West Soweto. It tells the story of the 1976 student protest. 5. Mandela's house and Bishop Tutu's are located on a 1 km long street known as Vilakazi, popular for housing two Nobel Peace Prize winners. 6. We will visit the Soweto brewing company, founded in 2012, which was created with the vision of bringing the success of local brewing to the township environment. 7. The tour will end at Vilakazi Street, and lunch will be offered at some of the local and authentic restaurants.
