Things to do Skopje Day Free Tour
You do not want to miss a thing of the center of the capital? Do you enjoy sculptures, statues, and monuments and enjoy taking photos?, or, Do you want to see how the Stone Bridge connects two different sides of Skopje? Well, here you are, go for it! During the walking tour, I will lead you through the story of Skopje, beginning with the new “Skopje 2014th,” presenting you with statues, sculptures, monuments, and squares. We will then cross the Stone Bridge through the very different Old Town and even further back in history, up to the fortress Kale, where the earliest evidence of human existence is. With me, in Skopje, you must try a BOZA (drink dating back to the Ottoman Empire), have a traditional breakfast or dinner, see the oldest tree in this area, which dates back to 1475, and have free entrance into the best discotheques.

Our walking tour of Skopje was one of the highlights of our visit and an excellent way to get acquainted with the city and the country. Dejan was an outstanding guide, whose extensive knowledge and genuine passion for Skopje were evident throughout the entire tour.
With a captivating storytelling style, he introduced us to the city's history, traditions, and cultural heritage, offering valuable context that helped us better understand North Macedonia and its unique identity. His insights gave us a much richer appreciation of both the city and the country as a whole.
Dejan also shared several recommendations for local restaurants and traditional dishes, all of which turned out to be excellent suggestions and greatly enhanced our experience during our stay.

We attended a tour having a true interest in Skopje and Macedonian culture. The guide’s way of conducting the trip was rather was very basic and not so engaging. We stopped at each point and he would take 5mins to talk about a certain place before we rushed to the other. Was a bit difficult to understand at parts because of his pronunciation. But most importantly the tour didn’t tell me enough about the place that I wanted to learn about, because the guide would stop to talk about shops and services in the city which was quite obvious. It felt more like he is advertising those places rather than explaining something cultural.
All in all it was okey yet having had many tours before I have to say it was my least favorite. It’s an honest and friendly review.

As much as I liked Dejan as a person, I don't see the tour to be very useful. Unfortunately not everyone can be a tour guide. Dejan doesn't have the deep knowledge about the city, often when asked questions didn't know the answers.Also the way Dejan speaks is sometimes difficult to understand. Unfortunately I didn't learn much about Skopje, or not as much as expected.
On the positive note the atmosphere was very pleasant, I enjoyed the drink and cake and the off topic conversation.

“Almost a private tour :)”
We met with Dejan in the evening for this tour and there were only few of us. It was really nice and friendly, Dejan is such a great person, passionate and interested in everything that he is talking about. That really drove the whole tour and we felt like we were walking through the city with a friend who knows everything about Skopje.
We also got some great tips on where to eat and what else to visit.
