Take the Free Walking Tour of Sarajevo first to gain a general insight into the city and its people. Then take "The Last Day of Franz Ferdinand" and the "1425 Days" (Siege of Sarajevo) tours to go deeper into the history of this lovely, but complex, land.
Enes was our guide for the "1425 Days" (Siege of Sarajevo). The 4+ hours spent with him and the group went fairly quickly. Enes is quite professional and extremely entertaining. Although he was quite young during the siege of the city, he is quite knowledgeable of the events that took place and was quite happy to answer our many questions about the events that took place during those dark days, as well as other questions that we had about the country and its people. Would have loved to hear more personal insights but understand that, as we were a mixed group, Enes, like any good guide, has to take into account everyone´s needs and interests. He did, however, give his all to ensure that we all had a good time.
A general recommendation to the tour organizer would be to perhaps include tour guides with a different view and opinion on the conflict (Serb side) and perhaps older guides who can share stories from the life of a resistance soldier or simply how it was to live under siege for so long.
