Join our tour led by a Prague native to explore Terezín. Discover the concentration camp, prison, Terezín Museum, Synagogue, and Crematorium. Learn the rich history of this historic fortress.
Be prepared for 5 hours of walking - wear good shoes and a rain jacket. We usually visit "Retranchement 5" first and talk about the fort's history, who built it, and why. Then, we will move on to the Terezin Museum.
Here, there is a very extensive and descriptive exhibition about why the concentration camps were created, what life was like in Terezín - the ghetto, and where the transports were sent from and to. Then we move on to the Small Fortress, which was originally a prison for soldiers and later a prison for the Prague Gestapo secret police.
Finally, we will visit the synagogue, attic/loft living demonstration, and the Crematorium. If time permits, arrangements can be made to extend the tour to include the Magdeburg Barracks, where you can see authentic art by artists who lived here in the ghetto.
We will travel by minibus, accommodating up to 8 passengers (plus guide).
