Things to do Old Town of Ohrid: UNESCO Heritage Tour
The city of Ohrid has quite a long history to offer. Located next to one of the oldest and deepest lakes in Europe, this place so called "The pearl of the Balkan" will astonish you with its amazing breathtaking views. Throughout the centuries, Ohrid has witnessed the taste of Ancient Greece, the Roman Empire, the Byzantineculture, the Ottoman Empire, but most of all, the influence of the Slavic migration, which is still present today. I will take you to the heart of the city, where you will see the fortress of the Tsar Samuel from the XI century. From there, you will have the best view of one of the largest and clearest natural tectonic lakes in Europe, the lake of Ohrid. Next on the list will be the church of St. Clement (together with the archaeological excavation of the First Slavic university under restoration). Furthermore, I will take you to the oldest spot in the old city so far—the ancient theatre from the 2nd century B.C. We will continue through the narrow streets & I will present to you 2 unique workshops for handmade paper and handmade woodcrafts. I will show you the famous Ohrid pearl and will tell you the secret how it's made. It'll be one unforgettable experience!

“Very thorough walking tour”
Apostolis was an excellent guide and took us to many places in the Old Town. He answered all kinds of questions, gave us valuable information and personal recommendations. I learned a lot of this tour and am really glad I did it.

“The tour that didn’t tour!”
Unfortunately I cannot comment as the tour guide did not show.
Waited in the square by the statue as directed until 10am, along with other customers only to be disappointed.
We did, however do our own tour as there are informative QR codes dotted around at various sites of interest & met a very interesting chap at the monastery who shared some of his knowledge with us.
I have had to put 1 star as it won’t let me leave a zero rating.

Interessante Tour durch Ohrids Welterbe-Altstadt mit viel Hintergrundwissen zu Geschichte und aktueller Situation in Nordmazedonien. Apostolis schaut auf dem Weg in kleinen Werkstätten vorbei und erklärt, wie Ohrid-Perlen, handgeschöpftes Papier, Holzschnitzereien und Makalo gemacht werden. Wer will, kann Rakija und mehr verkosten.

The tour starts in the square of Ohrid and continues deep into the old city. Along the way you will visit many workshops and shops and have the opportunity to learn about local crafts. In addition to historical places and events, you will also have the opportunity to taste local delicacies. Apostolis was very friendly and polite. I definitely recommend him and this tour.

“Nice time in Ohrid”
It was a very nice time, our guide knew a lot - about history, politics, good food and drink, jewellery and old town secret places. We tasted a bit of Ohrid with wonderful atmosphere. The guide was very communicative, friendly, talkative, knew English as well other languages.

“Very good tour”
Apostolis is really friendly and involves every member of the group into the conversation. He tells a lot about the city and indicates some interesting spots for buying food or souvenirs. Something I hadn't see in earlier tours was that he also visited several craft workshops with us, which was an interesting addition. The only minor disadvantage of the tour was a long story about politics, which we didn't particularly like, but that's mainly a matter of taste.

The tour was informative. Yet the tour lasted 4hrs, hence apart from the fact that we got bored and tired, we had to change the plan for the rest of the day. I suggested that time is kept

it was excellent we saw so much, a decent walk.
very knowledgeable representative. Beautiful views ???? would recommend that tourists take the walk. we saw St John's Church. we visited the Amphitheatre. x saw lots of local crafts and learnt about Ohrid pearls. The guide was excellent and would do this again. Thanks very much appreciated.

“Excellent day despite the rain”
We had a great morning with Apolstolis! He communicated early and clearly that we would start the tour earlier, which worked well for us so we had more time on our own in the afternoon. Even though it was pouring with rain, he kept us as dry as possible by popping into local craft workshops. This was fantastic! We were taught how paper is traditionally made, visited with a woodworker, and learned about the city, the old town, the architecture and more. Would highly recommend this tour to get a basic understanding of the region.

Booked the tour and received confirmation. Unfortunately me and 2 other customers from Germany and Perth reached the meeting point but no one attended at the Freetour, the guide was unreachable so, after writing him via app and waiting for 1 hours we all left the meeting point and try to visit Ohrid by myself. Not good, I give 1 star only because zero stars is not possible

Apostolis was extremely knowledgable and took me to all the sites in Ohrid I had hoped to see. We also stopped into some local shops to see some of the culture, like woodworking, paper-making, and try locally-grown food up close. The tour was interesting and provided lots of info, would recommend!

“Visiting shops of Ohrid Tour”
Next to nothing about history before Tito. Church of St. Pantelejmon seems to have vanished. Samoil's fortress mentioned once. St. John kaneo - oh c'mon, everybody takes a picture of it... Plaosnik never mentioned. Robevi house - only because one of us asked about it, no story about it nevertheless. But, well, we visited 4 important shops on our way, we learnt that our guide speaks 3 languages we don't, and we lost some precious time we could spend on something better than that.
