“I've enjoyed an excellent Walking Tour with Juan”
Today I have enjoyed an excellent Free Walking Tour in Leiden. The explanations Juan gave us were quite impressive and "out-of-the- shelf"!
The 3 hours were a delightful introduction in Leiden history, main buildings and their importance, people.
I fully recommend the tour, you will not regret it!

The tour was over 3 hours long and at the end we wish the tour would not conclude We would highly recommend and the next time we come to Leiden we would take a refresher tour

“One of the most informative tours I've ever done”
This tour was great! Juan stopped at so many seemingly random places to point out the historical and cultural significance, which I find extremely valuable in a team. We were a small group of only 5 and so it was a nice atmosphere.

“Free tour historical Leiden most interesting ”
With friends we made a free tour with Juan Ricòn on a Saturday morning mid February. A three hours walk trough the city flew by. Much interesting facts in a pleasant conversation with Juan. It gives you a good idea of why Leiden is still a betifull historic Roman fortress today. Much compliments for Juan.

Yo y mi amiga nos retrasamos 15 min para el tour por una infortunada situación..
Pero no hubo manera d contactar el guía o de saber por donde andaba para seguir con el tour igual.
Generalmente en el puento de encuentro empieza el tour o en las cercanias, recorrimos todo y ni señal del guia, me pregunto si estubo ahi en realidad o no.
Asi k nos quedamos medias triestes ( igual fue por nuestra culpa) por no haber hecho ese tour e admiradas que no hubo ni siquiera contacto del guia con nosotras una vez k deje mi numero de telefono en la reserva.

Leiden es una ciudad preciosa y gracias al free tour descubrimos rincones y detalles que, de lo contrario, nos hubieran pasado desapercibidos. El guía tenía muchos conocimientos históricos y acompañaba sus explicaciones con mapas y fotografías que facilitaban la comprensión. Además, lo hacía de forma muy amena y estaba abierto a preguntas y todo tipo de comentarios. Ha sido uno de los mejores free tour que hemos hecho, lo recomendamos sin dudarlo.

“Our spirits weren’t dampened!”
It was the most shocking weather for two-thirds of the walk, torrential rain and very gusty wind, which was a pity for everybody, but Juan kept us all with him throughout. We were a small group, Dutch, Irish/Australian and English, and it was specially nice to have a break for coffee and apple pie, and the opportunity to chat about what might have been controversial past and current world situations in such a friendly and open-minded way.
We’ve been on free walking tours in several cities around the world, and we always enjoy the individuality of the guides, and their particular interests which are included in their presentations. Juan’s was one of the best for historical facts and perspective, by far! But he didn’t omit the anecdotes and tales which liven everybody up, and showed us many places which ordinary tourists wouldn’t find, or think about very much.
We wish you all the best of luck in achieving your ambition to become a history teacher, Juan, and if we visit Leiden again we’ll maybe do the tour again, hopefully keeping dry this time, so we can manage to take some acceptable photos!

“Great and profitable morning with Juan”
We spent a very pleasant morning wandering around Leiden with Juan. He was kind enough to wait for us even if we were 'slightly' late :) and also didn't mind doing the tour just for the three of us when the rest of the people didn't show up. He is very knowledgeable about every piece of Leiden interesting history and willing to explain every detail or reply to any questions. He also manages to explain history in plain terms and not making it boring at all (which is not always easy!). With him, we could also discover places that we would never have reached by ourselves. He very generously invested his whole Saturday morning on the three us (relaxing coffee break included). I highly recommend him :)

Nos apuntamos a esta guía por Leiden porque nos dijeron que la ciudad merece mucho la pena por su historia, monumentos y por lo bonita que es. Estábamos de paso por Holanda y como no es un destino muy conocido decidimos pedirle ayuda a Juan y mereció mucho el día lluvioso que nos tocó. El tour está muy bien organizado y nos contó muchas cosas interesantes ya que la historia de Leiden está muy relacionada con la de España.
Juan nos explicó que es licenciado en Historia y se le nota que le gusta. Conoce muy bien la ciudad y las anécdotas históricas. Además viene preparado con material en papel para apoyar lo que estábamos viendo en ese momento.
Nos llevamos muy buena impresión de la ciudad y del guía.
