We had two guides for this tour. In the morning, our guide spoke excellent English and provided us with fascinating insights into Georgian culture, as well as the city's monuments and historical background. We also visited the local food market, where we had the chance to sample a few traditional specialties.
In the afternoon, a different guide took us to the Tskaltubo sanatoriums—a place I had long wished to visit after reading a novel about it last year. This hauntingly beautiful site, a relic of the Soviet era, was every bit as captivating as I had imagined.
