Exploring the Hue Imperial City
Join us and discover the rich history and culture of the city of Hue, Vietnam! This walking tour of Hue Citadel will give you the opportunity to explore the ancient architecture and learn about the history of the Nguyen Dynasty.
Things to do Exploring the Hue Imperial City
During the tour, you will be guided by a knowledgeable local tour guide who will take you through the various sections of the Citadel, including the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City. You will see the beautiful palaces and gardens the Nguyen Emperors once used. The tour will also provide insights into the daily life of the royal family and the Vietnamese people during the Nguyen Dynasty. You will learn about their customs, traditions, and way of life. Overall, this walking tour of Hue Citadel is a perfect way to discover Vietnam's rich cultural heritage and gain a deeper understanding of its history. Our guides will meet you at 8 a.m and 2 PM. at the ticket booth. Please remember to wear comfy shoes, as we will be walking often. A very complete tour of the ancient city. Linh shared with us all his knowledge in a didactic and pleasant way, he definitely knows his dates!
It was really nice and time flew by, he answered all of our question (and we had a lot) plus he recommended us the tastiest place in town to try the local cuisine.
If you’re coming to Hue, don’t hesitate to book a tour with Linh - he’s definitely worth the hype.

“Only half of the imperial city”
Even though the information given on the tour was a lot, I was impressed when the tour finished half way through the imperial city. I thought it would be a complete walk around it but it was only the half left of the city.

We did the Exploring the Hue Imperial City tour with Linh as our guide. Linh gave an excellent tour. His English is very good and he had many interesting stories. He was able to keep my two kids (11 and 12) interested for much of the tour. He also shared some local restaurant suggestions for after the tour which unfortunately we did not have time to try.

“Accurate, interesting and fresh”
Imperial city was super interesting. Our tour guide, Toan, spoke really good english and was super nice. He was neither rushed nor over extensive on the explanations. In my opinion he was just perfect. He even knew in which places to stop us and give us some more explanation with colder conditions. The heat in Vietnam is tough for many of us, and sometimes tour guides stop under the sun and it's unbearable. Not this case, it was as fresh as possible. I really appreciate that.

We arrived a little late, but our guide remained patient, called us where we were and smiled upon meeting us. He is great in giving all detailed information about the history of the complex and the country. He took into account that one of the participants did not master English and needed translation from his wife, he adapted the rhythm of the tour in the blazing heath to her física condition, gave us plenty of time for photo opportunities, in one word : a dream guide.11/10!!
