Fantastic Tour with an Amazing Guide!
I had a wonderful experience on the Hoi An Ancient Town Free Walking Tour. Our guide, Vy, did an excellent job — she was knowledgeable, engaging, and full of great recommendations. “Free Walking Tour before TET”
I had the pleasure to join the Free Walking Tour on the day before TET with Khieu ("Q"). Even if this is a extraordinary day for Vietnamese Khieu was extraordinary engaged and guided us through the old town with a passion I cannot underline more. As a true Hoianese I had the feeling, that Khieu could tell you all about the city even if someone would wake her up in the night. I learned a lot about the city and the history and was really happy to book the tour before I stayed for a whole week in Hoi An.
After the tour we got recommendations about places to eat, that I enjoyed. The cherry of the tour was a personal invitation from Khieu to a lunch on new years eve. We felt honored and it was one of my highlights of my journey. Thank you Khieu for all!!

If you’re going between the tours and can’t make up your mind… stop here! This was a lovely tour and a great experience. Minh was our guide and you would be lucky to get him! Q was an amazing guide, she was professional but friendly and funny. She knew so much about the history of the place, being herself a local, which I think really makes a difference on a walking tour. Her personal stories were very touching and interesting, tied with the history of Hoi An. I can't recommend this tour enough!

Our guide Anh did a wonderful job. She made a personal connection to every member of our big group (22), answered all our questions and told us lots about the history of the city. She took her time, we spent 3 hours exploring the old time. Afterwards she sent us a group photo and recommendations - so this tour should be the start of your visit to Hoi An. Definitely book this tour!

Our tour guide Kun provided a lot of interesting information, she had a great deal of expertise and was also funny at the same time!
At the end of our tour we got a lot of helpful recommendations for cafes and bars, food and other activities.

“Well organised”
The tour was well-organized, and the guide shared many interesting stories, revealing a unique and fascinating perspective of Hoi An.
However, what I didn’t appreciate was being asked to buy tickets to visit a few paid spots during the tour. Although the tickets cost approximately $5 per person and are valid for three days, this should have been clearly stated in the tour description. Since we had to leave the city immediately after the tour, we couldn’t make use of them. Additionally, these tickets are apparently only required for foreign tourists, which feels like an artificial and unnecessary division within the tourist community. Personally, I am against such practices and would prefer not to support this form of targeted tourist taxation.
The guide repeatedly emphasized the importance of buying these tickets to support the city. However, during our 24-hour stay, we spent a few hundred dollars on goods and services, which, in my opinion, is a more meaningful contribution to the local economy and Vietnam as a whole—not through tickets specifically aimed at foreign visitors.

“Minh the great guide!”
Minh was a great guide! Very charismatic and with a lot of energy. We taught us the culture from Hoi An, the local costumes, the history of the village and the social habits of the Vietnamese people. We could ask whatever we wanted and he always tried to give us a good answer. And he always got it!
He also took us to some assemblies and temples from Hoi An.
It was a real good tour, he made so much effort to make us feel comfortable.

We were a group of four with our guide Kun. She was terrific with her story telling at every stop. Kun was also fun and funny and went out of her way to keep us entertained. When we wanted to stop to try a drink or a snack, she got the drink and food for us (minus the queuing). Thank you, Kun. You are a star. We enjoyed our time with you. And we now have a friend in Hoi An.

“Loved the Walking Tour ”
We joined the Walking Tour in October 2024 and it was a great experience. The guide Khieu shared her private insights of the life of local women in central Vietnam, which was super interesting to learn about. She also talked about the aftermath of the Vietnamese Resistance and the impact on the locals. It was a great tour, which we would recommend to everyone!

Minh was an amazing guide! We had a group of 12 people and Minh made everything to keep ass all interested and engaged at all times, from jokes and sharing personal story.
He knows so much about everything in the city, knew the answer to everyone of our questions and had a lot of little quirks and stories to add in the sites.

“Hôi An city tour”
Very lively interesting tour from our guide Mingh, 'I want to show you things about Hoi An you can't' Google' and he did again and again.
I know now how international Hoi An is; how different in outlook it is to many Vietnamese citiies; how the country distanced itself from China,;how Hoi An wealthier families fared under the government; how prayers must never be self seeking or malicious. I'm happy to have paid my £3 to help maintain the UNESCO site. Shame tourism has pushed out most local people,

“This is how I picture a perfect tour”
