Wir hatten eine tolle Tour trotz Regen ganz für uns alleine. Man muss allerdings wissen, dass ein Großteil der Tour im Castle stattfindet. Am Abend ist dort alles super schön beleuchtet. Eine Tour ab 5pm lohnt sich daher in jedem Fall.
Wir können die Tour uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

“Amazing tour!!”
I just did the tour with Klarens and it was absolutely amazing! In the end we did a private tour because the other guests didn’t show up. He told us a lot about the history of the city, a lot of curiosities and showed us some hidden gems. He is also a very good company and know a lot about everything here, considering he is born and raised here. I really recommend it for anyone that comes to Gjirokaster!!

Gebucht war eine Tour um 9.30 Uhr in der Gruppe, Verschiebung per Email vom Organisator auf 12.00 Uhr. Telefonat um 9.40 Uhr mit der Frage nach unserem Verbleib. Wir warteten am Treffpunkt um 12.00 Uhr wie vereinbart, niemand kam, keine Benachrichtigung. Telefonische Anfrage unsererseits bzgl. Verbleib des guides, der traf mit 20 min. Verspätung ein. Führung dann zu zweit, anfangs sehr rushi, im Laufe der Führung verbesserte sich die Atmosphäre und der guide ging auf unsere Wünsche ein. Insgesamt überschaubar. Vieles war dem Ausfall eines Kollegen geschuldet, guide entschuldigte sich mehrfach.

Having as guide someone who born in Gjirokastrë was absolutely amazing. He gave us lots of information about how the people interpreted their own history. Definitely we’d have missed several landmarks and details that would have gone unnoticed by our eyes.
The most beautiful thing was that he tell us that most of the information was an inheritance spoken through the generations.

Our tour of Gjirokastër was a great experience. Originally scheduled for 5 pm, our guide reached out to us in advance to suggest rescheduling to 6 pm due to the rain. We appreciated his thoughtfulness, and the later time turned out to be perfect.
He was very knowledgeable, had good sense of humor, which made the experience even more enjoyable, and he was more than happy to answer our numerous questions.
The places we visited during the tour are well thought of (an Orthodox Church easy to miss, old and new bazaars, the Gjirokastër Castle, and some museums and other interesting spots).
The entrance to the castle costs 400 lek per person, which is definitely worth it given the stunning views and rich history the site offers.
Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Gjirokastër!

We had the pleasure of having Klarens as our guide, and he made our tour truly memorable. He provided fascinating insights into the history of the castle and offered great recommendations for other sites to visit and restaurants in the city, keeping us engaged and interested throughout.
Klarens was incredibly kind and patient, waiting for us to arrive from Sarande even though we were late. Despite this, he still gave us a thorough tour for just the two of us. His kindness didn’t stop there, when I realized I had lost something after the tour, Klarens helped me retrieve it.
I highly recommend this tour, and especially Klarens as a guide. His knowledge, patience, and kindness made all the difference!

Our tour around Gjirokaster with Kledi was wonderful. We booked the 5pm tour and we were lucky to be the only ones doing it, so it became a private guided tour!
It is so hot in August, so the 5pm tour was perfect.
We walked around the old town and the castle. Kledi gave us lots of information and we also asked him a lot of questions about Gjirokaster and Albania. He answered everything well - he had so much knowledge!
The majority of the tour was spent wandering around the castle. Having a guide for this is amazing because there aren't many information boards around the castle and Kledi took us to lots of spots that might usually be ignored. The views from the castle at dusk with the sunset lighting up the sky was also amazing!

We spent a very nice time with the guy who makes the guide.
He explained to us many interesting things that we did not know about the city of Gjirokastra.

“Not recommended ”
The guide came 25min late.
He sent us a message 3h in advance saying that he is expecting us but he himself arrivef 25min late claiming that traffic etc was hard (on Sunday morning).
The content of the tour was not at all like any tour. Yes, he knows something but nothing close to a tourguide. I felt like the local stories he told us can be told by any local in the street. I had much more information about the history of the town than him.
He is a nice person and that's nice but tourguide wise that's clearly the last tour I would recommend in my life (I have been to 82 countries and joined many tours and am doing a tour myself).
