Things to do Discover Genzano di Roma on Foot

A walking tour of Genzano di Roma is an evocative journey through history, art, and tradition. The route starts from Piazza Tommaso Frasconi, the beating heart of the town, where you can breathe in the lively atmosphere of local life. From here we take Via Italo Belardi, an elegant 18th-century street commissioned by the Cesarini family, famous for hosting the Infiorata every year: a unique event during which the entire stretch is decorated with wonderful carpets of flowers. Continue to the majestic Sforza Cesarini Palace, overlooking Lake Nemi. The palace, built in the 17th century, is surrounded by a romantic park full of ancient trees and panoramic views. A little further on, visit the Church of the Holy Trinity, an example of Baroque architecture, which holds valuable works of art. Finally, we descend to the belvedere on Via della Cima, from which there are spectacular views of the lake and the Roman countryside. The tour ends with a stroll through the historic alleys, where time seems to stand still. A perfect experience to discover the authentic charm of the Castelli Romani.
