Things to do Ljubljana Old Town & Castle Tour
This tour is usually done as a second tour, after guests have already joined our Classic Tour or Essentials Tour. As its name suggests, our "Old Town and Castle Free Tour" concentrates on Ljubljana's enchanting Old Town, with its Baroque architecture, monuments, side alleys, and fascinating stories. On this tour, we visit further locations that are simply too far away to visit on our Classic Free Tour. To top it off, we walk up to the Hilltop Castle, a slow 10-minute walk with several stops on the way. As usual, all of our guides are licensed locals, and it's how they present the tours that make the difference. We hope to see you there. Tour Highlights: - Visit the town hall - Fish alley - Locksmith alley - Old Town Square & Hercules Fountain - Gornji Rd (1st road in town), - The oldest house in Ljubljana - St Florian's Church - The Hangman residence - St. Rosalia's Church - Ljubljana Castle (free entrance)

Tina delivered a grest tour. The information on the old town and Castle was interesting and Tins knew her stuff! The route was very good and we left with a good understanding of the old town and life in the old days for it’s inhabitants.

I loved the tour. I was little nervous about to go up to the castle walking but was very easy and whit couple stops. we toured the locksmith alley and others. and some other areas I love it. also the tour guide was amazing. Ljubljana is a city full of historical importance and beautiful surroundings

“An Informative Afternoon with Lucy”
My husband snd i enjoyed this tour of Medieval Ljubljana and the Castle with Lucy. We were a small group of 10 on a rainy afternoon which made the walk to the castle even more atmospheric.
Lots of good legends and solid information was receive on this tour.

Probably spelt the name wrong. She had a loudspeaker and microphone with her, which helped with hearing her speak. She had interesting things to say about the old town, town hall meetings, history of the city and the castle. “Great city overview”
Having been to the city of Ljubljana before and done the classic tour, we opted for a an old city and the Ljubljana Castle tour. It wasn’t as detailed but more of the overview, but exactly what we wanted. The tour ended in Ljubljana Castle with a great explanation. Nina was a great tour guide with funny stories (legends) and engaging historical explanations. I highly recommend either tour.

“Quick way to know a bit of Slovenian history”
We took the old town and castle tour after already taking the Classic city tour. It was a great experience with Helena. She took us through interesting anecdotes from Slovenian history, esp through the middle ages. The walk up the castle was also good. Overall, would certainly recommend this tour and Helena.

“Simply the best”
On my six week-tour through Europe I participated in many walkingtours. And quite a few guides had been excellent.
Ljubljana is my last stop before returning home. My tour with Helena was a fantastic ending and highlight.
Helena spoke so clearly that even with that many people that took part in the walk I understood every word. Her stories and anecdotes were so funny and interesting. I could learn so many things about medieval life and about Ljubljana. So the tour with Helena was an unforgettable journey through time and space. Thank you, Helena!

Our Old town and castle tour in Ljubljana was well organized. Our guide Demian was very knowledgeable and ready to answer any questions. The group was not too big, ascend to castle is slow with a stop at the middle. It was my first time on a free tour, and I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. Well done!!! :)

“Interesting and very nice atmosphere ”
Vojka did a great tour which was really informative and she told many anecdotes which made it easier to understand and to relate to medieval times.
We had a stroller with us which was challenging at times (many stairs up to the castle of course, have this in mind if you have children with you), but Vojka and the group where very kind and waited for us.
