Eat Like a Local: A Chisinau Food & Wine Tour

Want to discover Moldova through its food? Come hungry and join me for a tasty journey through the heart of Chisinau! We’ll start at the lively Central Market, where locals shop every day. We’ll taste different cheeses, pickles, seasonal fruits and other local products - plus one unexpected Soviet-era surprise! Along the way, I’ll tell you how Moldovan cuisine developed and how Romanian, Balkan, Ukrainian and Soviet influences shaped what people eat here today. Next, we’ll stop for coffee and try the famous plăcintă before continuing to a traditional Moldovan restaurant. Instead of ordering separate meals, we’ll share the table like locals and taste several classics together - mămăligă, sarmale, mici, fasoliță, eggplant spread, different plăcinte and a traditional dessert. And of course, no Moldovan food experience is complete without wine! We’ll finish with a tasting of local wines, where we can relax, talk about the tour, and enjoy the atmosphere together.
