Things to do Free Walking Tour - Unveiling the Treasures of a UNESCO Gem

This tour is focused on The Cultural Heritage of Berat, a city of 2400 years of age. Hence, it has a very rich history. In our tour, filled with smiles, energy, and entertainment, we will uncover the rich tapestry of this city's iconic landmarks, the UNESCO-listed Berat Quarters, and the mesmerizing Byzantine churches overflowing with history and culture. Our meeting point will be at the center of the city, in front of the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Demetrius. Next, we will head towards the old part of the city, which is a complex of three quarters: the Castle, Mangalemi, and Gorica. Then, we will pass through a cobbled path to get to the Castle, which is the most beautiful and antique part of the tour. Afterward, we are going to walk to the complex of the Pasha and the Medieval Center of the city. The highlights of our tour will be: • The Center of Berat • The Orthodox Cathedral of St. Demetrius • The main boulevard • The bridge between Mangalemi and Gorica • The Castle • Saint Mary of Vlaherna church • Holy Trinity Church • The White mosque • The Red mosque • The city’s point of view After two and a half hours, we will end the tour at the Medieval Center.
