Dear visitors! I am very excited to show you the landmarks of the city of Berat and to share with you the stories and the circumstances that have influenced the development of the city.
The tour is both and informativefascinating, with many exclusive monuments, historic buildings and streets, . The setting of the historical quarter is unique. The landscape is fascinating and it enables visitors to be totally immersed in the experience they are having.
We will visit up close the old Historical Center of Berat with the King Mosque and the Helveti Tekke and get to know how the citizens of Berat had organised their spiritual growth.
We will visit Mangalem and Gorica Quarter and witness how the need for protection had conditioned people in the past to build along the rocky hills and create such architectural wonders, today inscribed under the UNESCO list.
We will wander through the Castle and read along the historical buildings the old stories and events. We will then visit the old churches and explain their presence in significant numbers and how the citizens sticked to their traditions and identity for thousands of years. All this envolped by a wonderful rural and mountainous scenery.
We will visit the panoramic point which offers a view to most of the city and its rural area, including the Tomori and Shpirag Mountains. In the end we will go down the castle through a pictoresque path which winds through a modern part of the city and let us behold onto the last and modern part of the city.
