Launched in 2017, the Louvre Abu Dhabi is the largest French cultural work abroad. This is the first universal museum in the Arab world, the fruit of unprecedented cooperation between France and the United Arab Emirates.

The Louvre Abu Dhabi complex is the work of French architect Jean Nouvel, winner of the Pritzker Prize. He was guided by the unique dimensions of the Saadiyat site: a virgin island between the sand and the sea.

This island project where the LOUVRE and GUGGENHEIM museums are built comes to complete the image of ABU DHABI as an Arab cultural capital before entering the fruit and date market in the port of Abu Dhabi.

The museum has an excellent collection that includes nearly 700 exhibits and sets representing works from all periods (from prehistory to the present day) and all civilizations.
