If you are interested in architecture and old abandoned buildings, this tour is for you. Tskhaltubo was one of the spa resorts on the so-called Soviet Riviera. Construction on its 18 sanatoriums began in the 1920s, and by the 1980s, trains arrived daily from Moscow. Meanwhile, in 1920, the territory of Tskaltubo became state property and acquired the function of a balneology resort. Balneotherapy treats diseases and medical conditions by bathing in mineral-enriched water. In 1953, Tskaltubo became an important spa resort during the Soviet era.
Here you will see Soviet architecture, how impressive and extremely valuable sanatoriums were in Tskaltubo, how many people visited them from all over the Soviet Empire, and how destroyed and abandoned they are now, but there are many interesting things left. The place is very similar to Chernobyl without the radiation, of course.
