“Excellent tour, highly recommended”
I am writing a PhD in History about post-war national identity in Austria so I was sure the tour would be too superficial for me, as it's not targeted to history buffs. I was so wrong . The guide Charles was very knowledgeable and conveyed a lot of information in Avery enjoyable and entertaining manner, and Ilearned quite a lot from this tour.

Good tour. Some concerns about the bias of the tour guide. What Austria and Germany did to the Jews was atrocious and I don’t think there is any “debate” or “discussion” about it.

La ruta es muy interesante, el guía Wolfjang sabía muchísimo, se veía que disfrutaba de su trabajo y lo transmitia. Llevaba fotos y material/objetos de aquella época que ayudaba a comprender la historia y le añadía un punto más de interés. De hecho alargó la charla más allá de lo previsto. La charla fue en inglés pero se entendía perfectamente.
Como punto a mejorar, diría que éramos demasiados y en algunos lugares con ruido ambiental (coches, por ejemplo) podías tener dificultad para entenderlo si no estabas en primera fila. Fui con una niña de 12 años y también le encantó.

Our guide, Dieter, was a journalist/historian and exteremely well informed and interesting. His English is perfect and he could answer all questions and also discussed the more nuanced ethical and moral issues of the Anschluss. It was the highlight of our Vienna stay. I would recommend this tour to everyone. I took it with a 16 year old girl on a sub-zero January day and we were engaged throughout. The loss of a point for organisation is merely because they would be advised to state a meeting point in writing rather than on a map that requires wifi when you're on the street looking for it

“Definitely Knew His Content”
Despite the coldest day in Vienna Dieter handled the conditions well and also being aware of the needs of some of the members of the touring group and needed to seek refuge in some warmer venues. I found the historical content of Hitler's youth and academic ambitions plus interest in the arts very interesting. The social ramifications and responsibilities experienced by the Austrians during the pre-war and post-war periods again very interesting.
Dieter is a very good orator and enjoyed any questions placed upon him while in transit from one area to another area. Very well presented and a job well done.

Great tour! Hearing about the life of Hitler and connecting to the places we were is amazing.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and articulate, he kept us engaged all the time. To know that he is a journalist and interviewed a well known Nazi hunter made our trip that much more interesting. Highly recomend thy his tour!!

“Fascinating Look into Hitler and Vienna”
Dieter did an excellent job of bringing Austria's history - especially of the 1930's - alive and interesting. This wasn't meant to be course on Austrian history, but a look into aspects of Austria's history as it related to Adolf Hitler, his belief and how they spread through out Austria and helped enable the anschluss. Dieter did not attempt to sugar coat nor excuse the role Austrians and Austria played during this period, while taking care to point out not all Austrians were Nasi's either. My wife and I enjoyed the tour very much.

“Good for those interested in history ”
Overall an informative historical tour. However, we didn't see anything direct about Hitler, although some historical monuments and buildings were indirectly related to him. The tour was also focused more on 'concentration camp' aspect of Nazis and other things kind of took a backseat. In my opinion, if Austria is now neutral, it should cover the history with the same attitude rather than dividing it into 'good' and 'bad' sections. Tourists already know what was good and bad and that's why they attend this tour-to get more information, not just to feel sorry about those who died in the war. The tour guide Dieter was very knowledgeable and he explained us the history well. And I would recommend others to attend the tour as it gives the real background of the start of WWII. Also, I would like to add here a thing about Swastika about which I had to disagree with him. The swastika was not invented by Nazi party but is an ancient symbol prominent in ancient religions denoting prosperity, peace, and happiness for all. And that's why Hitler borrowed this sign and it was unfortunate that it has lately been associated with Nazi party. So, there's nothing wrong with swastika being sold in Belarus or any other country. Please don't propagate this idea that swastika is a bad sign. Thank you.
