From the terrace of Mercado Puerto, located in the heart of Barrio Puerto, we’ll enjoy a privileged view of the historic La Matriz neighborhood, complemented by a walk through the area and a visit to its art galleries, while delving into the fascinating original history of Valparaíso. Join us and feel the unique energy of this city full of life, color, and tradition! This tour operates on a tip-based system, with a suggested minimum contribution per person, which will be communicated by your guide. Note: This tour may be canceled in case of heavy rain or events that result in the closure of "Plaza Sotomayor" square.

Stephan made the tour very personal to him and where he was raised and to all tge members if tge group relating parts of tge tour to each of our origins. He also remembered everyones name and creatd good camaraderie amongst the group. A fantastic way to see Valparaiso when we were inly there for a few hours

Nous avons eu la chance d’avoir un guide cultivé et passionné par l’histoire de son pays. Très belle visite.
Cependant, grosse déception entre la fiche descriptive de la prestation sur le site qui met en avant une visite gratuite et indique : « Payez ce que vous ressentez: Il n'y a pas de tarif fixe pour cette visite; laissez un pourboire en fonction de la valeur et de votre budget! » alors qu’au final on nous a réclamé un prix minimum de 12000 $ Chilien par personne !!!!!! Nous étions 3 et n’avions pas prévu cette dépense ! Nous avons été très gênés vis à vis du guide car nous avions prévu évidemment un pourboire pour lui mais là il s’agit de payer une visite à une compagnie.

“Knowledgeable guide and a good pace”
We enjoyed our walking tour with Cristobal. He was very experienced and knowledgeable about the historic areas of Valparaíso and answered all of our questions. The pace of the tour was perfect, there were areas to rest and plenty of time for pictures. We felt much safer exploring the hills with a tour guide and are glad that we booked the walking tour. “Five stars all the way!”
We had a wonderful time on the English tour with Rodrigo. He was so cheerful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing us the history and art of Valparaiso. Great stops, very interesting. We are picky, and we both loved the tour. The time flew by so fast. You do have to be in shape to climb a lot of steps, but we weren't rushed. Highly recommend.

Excelente tour con Daniel. Tres horas enteras de historia, arte, geografía y compromiso social con una ciudad que uno aprende a querer al final del tour. Además, este no se limita a la zona más turística de los murales, sino que muestra también la parte más descarnada de la ciudad, en la que todavía puede adivinarse su antiguo esplendor. Una experiencia muy enriquecedora.

“Wonderful tour with a great guide????”
We did the tour "Where the city was born" on Monday, 13th October and enjoyed it enormously. Unfortunately, we do not remember our guide's name (we know that he studies in Turino, Italy) but he was amazing, very committed and knowledgeable, answering all our questions. We learned a lot about the history of Valparaiso and the stories behind many of the colourful murals and their creators . We also liked the interesting art galleries our guide showed us and the experience of taking some of the famous "ascensores" of Valparaiso. We really enjoyed the beautiful views from the "cerros" and from the roof terrace of the central market. Thanks a lot to our great guide for an unforgettable tour of Valparaiso ! ¡Muchissimas gracias ????!

It was well organised and the guide gave us a line of how the city came about . He also showed us the are where the local live and how it is contrasting to the touristy areas . Truly appreciated that he pointed out the social issue of removing the funicular, which showed us another side of this useful vehicle in this hilly town. Appreciated every moment of it . Thank you !

Sebastian was an excellent guide: he was very nice, informative, and created a pleasant atmosphere for us! We learned a lot through observing the street murals, not only about Valpo, but about Chilean history and current events. “See a lot in a short time”
Being a local Stefan knows the local people. He introduced us to his uncle, whom we saw on the tour, and one of the muralists, who walked past. Stefan made the history come alive. We felt safe and went places we would not have discovered without him. Would highly recommend this tour.

“Great first experience in Valparaiso”
Our guide Diego tried very much to explain all the informations and history of the city Valparaiso. It was my first experience with free tour guidance and I get much more than I expected. The whole tour lasted even longer than 3 hours and he showed us the most beautiful and artistic parts of the city.
I trully recommend it.

Grâce à Sebastian nous avons pu visiter comme il se doit les ruelles de valparaiso, il nous a introduit à l'histoire intéressante de cette ville et plus largement du pays du chili, nous a montrer les bonnes adresse pour manger des glaces ou des empanadas et à été très compréhensible avec un français clair

“Amazing experience”
The tour was amazing, one of the best experiences we had in our trip to Chile. We are brazilian and were put in a group of spanish speaking people, but out guide was kind enough to acknowledge that and speak slowly as well as try to translate some of the words to portuguese. This tour was full of historical and culture knowledge and made to actually know and understand Valparaíso and not just to take pretty pictures. We loved it!

“Best free guided tour I’ve had in a while”
Our tout guide was amazing ! He could speak perfect french, we learned so many things about the city ! We went to places he recommended (for food for example) and it was really good !
