“Best thing in Valparaiso!”
So very very happy we did the walking tour with Catarina (Cat!) since we had been warned repeatedly about security issues and walking around on our own, it was recommended we go with a guide. We usually like to explore on our own but thought we’d give it a try. Best decision ever. We saw more in the two hours with Cat, and understood the history and context of the place, than we would ever have been able to on our own. We had a small group (only 4 of us) and plenty of time to ask questions and tailor the walk to our interests. It was the perfect afternoon. And it gave us an overview so we were able to go back on our own and explore the area. But this time, knowing where to go and not wandering around like vulnerable tourists! We still got warnings from folks (like keep your phone secure out of sight and not in your pants pockets) but felt completely fine going to dinner and walking around. Cat taught us well and we thoroughly enjoyed her and the tour she created. Five stars all the way around!

I loved our Tour with Alvaro. Any guide that helps you fall in love with a city is doing it right. Valporaiso came into full color with Alvaro sharing history both ancient and modern but weaved in plenty of fun stories, cultural tips to make it interesting. English was excellent and easy to follow. Route was well planned and executed. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Valpo!

La guía, Catalina, fue muy amigable. Sin embargo, no estaba preparada en los contenidos del tour, inventando mucha información, dando muchos datos históricos erróneos, especialmente del tiempo de la conquista, pero también sobre el pueblo mapuche y otros datos importantes.
Si bien el objetivo de pasear por Valparaíso y conocer la ciudad se cumplió, y ella si tiene muy buena disposición y es amable, no me parece correcto enseñar información falsa, es similar a una estafa.

“Valparaiso in the pouring rain”
Even though it was raining, and the other two participants canceled at the last moment, Gonzalo took me on the most fascinating tour. There was so much attention to detail including fernicula rides and chocolate treats. And lots of good advice on getting around "from his mamma". He spoke excellent English and was well informed about the local history and folk lore. Also thanks to his recommendations I enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Capri Restaurant. When you are traveling and only have limited time in each town, you can't let a little rain deter you and I'm so glad I still went out. Thank you Goncalo ???? from the solo South African.

So glad I booked this tour. Guide was excellent. I unfortunately cannot remember his name Gonzolez or something like that, a very nice, knowledgeable young man, born here in Valparaiso. Such a great tour, took us to places we would have otherwise missed on our own, some we had just done that morning. We loved it. Something new around every corner. So glad we stayed for 3 days for multiple reasons. Very small group which made it even better for us. Highly recommended. Thank you.

“This was a wonderful experience ”
This was a deep, rich, interesting and entertaining experience. We saw and learned more than we expected…..saw the colors of the city, learned history and were totally entertained in the process. We were nervous about our physical ability to handle the up and down of the City….but in fact the walk was broken into bite size pieces and we were able to manage just fine. Our guide was very smart and a great communicator. In every way this was a positive experience. Highly recommended.

We were slightly underwhelmed with Valparaiso until our tour with Alvaro! He gave us some essential history and showed us the most interesting parts of the city that we hadn't found in our explorations. He also took us on a ride on one of the funiculars and led us to a great place for alfajores. His tour elevated our Valparaiso trip and really helped give us an appreciation for the uniqueness of the city!

“Perfect for big groups”
As a tour leader of a group of 13 pax, I found the tour extremely helpful and useful to show my group Valparaíso with local eyes. Our guide, Gonzalo (Urbantours), is in love with his hometown and he managed to show his love with a great passion and a PERFECT English. We appreciated and enjoyed the tour from the beginning to the end, and we also liked the alfajores stop. If I could give a suggestion, it would be nice to add a stop in some less touristic areas of the city, just to make the tour more complete. Apart from this, I would recommend both Urbantours and Gonzalo in particular.

“Tour muy interesante pero faltó mucha información”
Felipe fue un guía muy amable, muy conversador, respetuoso y alegre. Nos llevó por lugares muy interesantes y bellas de Valparaiso, pero en nuestra opinión, la información entregada fue muy vaga. Hubo poca historia sobre Valparaiso, arquitectura, murales, etc. Nos quedó claro lo que es hoy en día Valparaiso, pero queríamos conocer mucho mas de su historia. He realizado este tour en otras ocasiones y por eso pude notar la diferencia.
El tour es muy recomendable, solamente sugerimos que el guía se informe mas sobre datos históricos (Guerra del pacífico, inicios del puerto, cómo se poblaron los cerros, arquitecturas, etc).

“Wonderful Tour in Valparaíso!”
I really enjoyed this tour with Alvaro G. He was so friendly and had so much information and knowledge about the city, but without overloading us with information. We went to so many different spots that were so interesting and beautiful. Highly recommend this tour!

“Free Tour Valparaíso ”
El tour nos llevó por los clásicos sitios de la ciudad. La guía lo explicaba genial, tanto en inglés como en español si nosotras no entendíamos algo, y respondía a todas nuestras dudas. Totalmente recomendable.

“A Tour of Valparaiso with Felipe: An Enriching and Authentic Exp”
We recently had an amazing experience on a tour of Valparaiso with Felipe. We met at Plaza Aníbal Pinto and while we waited for the group to form, we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves and chat with Felipe, who os a really pleasant person.
Felipe has an incredible depth of knowledge about Valparaiso and he was able to immerse us in the city's rich history through his excellent narration. He told us about key events, anecdotes, and curiosities that added so much depth to our experience of the city.
What we found particularly fascinating was Felipe's ability to explain the urban art of Valparaiso. We had seen the murals the day before but with Felipe's explanation of their meaning, the imagines took on a whole new level of depth and significance. It was truly an enriching experience.
The tour was also a great opportunity for us to meet other travelers who shared our interests. We exchanged contacts and made new friends, which really added to the overall experience.
Finally, Felipe gave us some useful practical advice on good restaurants to try, places to see and neighborhoods to avoid. This insider knowledge really made a difference and helped us to make the most out of our time in Valparaiso.
Overall, I can't recommend this tour enough. If you want to experience Valparaiso in a truly authentic and meaningful way, then this tour is an absolute must.

“Muy recomendable”
El tour fue genial. Un paseo y una ruta muy agradables donde ves muchos de los puntos destacados de Valparaíso. Nuestro guía Álvaro fue haciendo diversas paradas y contándonos historias y anécdotas muy interesantes. Se le nota que le gusta su trabajo y eso se transmite.
