“Could not take away much”
I'm very sad to leave a bad review, but unfortunately I could not take away much from this tour. Benjamin forgot some very important details - some of the most important in my opinion. His details about places we went were quite incoherent and sometimes he just left out important background information, which made it very hard to understand in what context something happened in the past or even what he was talking about.

“No Tengo idea ”
Desafortunadamente el guia no se presentó, espersmos por 30 minutos y decidimos caminar por nuestra cuenta, una lastima pues el recorrido por la ciudad ubiera sido mas atractivo. Lo de Malo es que la pagina tiene ninguna opción de contacto que no funciona, eramos almenos 5 personas esperando. Y tampoco recibimos un mensaje de cancelación, que hubiera sido mucho mas amable.

Alex es un guía competente y agradable . El tour fue muy ameno y entretenido , mezcló historia con alguna anécdota interesante y siempre abierto a preguntas que contestaba amablemente . Destacar que , aunque en el grupo había mayoría de habla inglesa y el resto manejábamos bastante el inglés , hizo el esfuerzo de explicar en las dos lenguas para que nadie se perdiera ningún detalle . Ciertamente tuvo que suponerle esfuerzo pero lo hizo con mucho agrado .

“Valparaiso Free Tour - Great Experience”
When you first arrive at Valparaiso, you get shocked by the amount of people who are near the bus station. However, when we got to our meeting point with our guide, she took us to the hills with their beautiful paintings on the buildings where it was way more calmer. All in all the tour was realky great, informative and recommendable. We just booked the tour 3 hours in advance and everything worked out fine.

His knowledge of Valparaíso, from its foundation to its current state is great. What is especially interesting is his extensive knowledge of the different street art and murals. Estimados, un agrado el tour y la disposición de Alex un 10, llamados para coordinar el punto de reunión, una simpatía.. en fin, fue un muy buen recorrido y lo disfrutamos mucho. La única crítica, constructiva en todo caso, es que para mi gusto el foco de Alex para presentar la ciudad es demasiado político contingente y se descuida el aspecto patrimonial. Ojo, no digo que no se pueda plantear la visión política, sobre todo en la realidad que vive el pais ( en el punto de reunión había una manifestación bastante numerosa ese dia!! ningun problema de seguridad). Se nota que Alex sabe de la ciudad y se apasiona por lo que relata pero creo que el foco debería estar mas en el valor patrimonial e historico de lo que se está observando.. no esta de mas para nada el contexto político pero en su justa medida. Espero que lo tomen como una sugerencia amigable por que es verdad que quedamos felices con el tour. Muchas gracias de todas maneras. Saludos

After every tour like this, I always ask myself whether I knew more about the subject / city / area after the tour than I did at the start. The simple answer in this case for the Valparaiso tour by Alex is DEFINITELY.
From his warm welcome at the start and the prompt start, i feel that we experienced an interesting and complete tour which covered the history (economic and social) of Valparaiso as well as modern-day life in a port city in Chile in 2020.
The only difficulty at the start was coping with the switch between English and Spanish as he presented to the group, but that didn’t last long.
Knowledgeable, interesting and friendly, I would definitely recommend Alex and his small tours for any visitors to Valpo.
Receiving the extra materials by email so we can continue to learn more was also a great bonus. Thanks

Terminamos encantados, no vimos ningún problema en las calles y nuestras expectativas sobre el tour en sí fueron ampliamente superadas. Alex nos brindó muchísima información, súper completo y claro. Hasta se preocupó porque recarguemos energías y nos regaló un chocolate a cada participante del tour. Tiene gran espíritu y nos contó datos, mostró detalles, fotos, historia, frenó en cada vista e imagen del lugar, que de ir solos nunca hubiéramos reparado. Tour made on December 15th: of course we were a bit "curious" regarding the actuality in Chile and especially that we can hear about Santiago and Valparaiso.
But demonstrations, when they occurres (last week I hear about 3 per week, the afternoon, and only some issues at the end of them) are not in the tours/touristic area.
By the way, you can feel that Alex knows the neighborhoods very well.
We park our car near the harbour, then enjoy the tour with Alex then go to a restaurant as the tour over in the most touristic place.
It's very interesting to hear Alex sharing information about Valparaiso and Chile. It's not too much, and very well selected. You will travel during 2h30 from a point of interest to another one, enjoying this beautiful city.

Alexander was the perfect guide! He told us a lot about the history of the city and it was a nice way to learn and see more of Valparaiso. Also, he knew the background and meaning behind a lot of the streetart pieces which was very interesting! Before coming to Valparaiso I was a bit worried that about the current situation in Chile, but it was perfectly fine! It felt very safe and there was a very chill vibe. I would definitely reccommend the tour with Alexander!

“Tour with alex”
Very good moment with Alex who has lot of knowing of the city, country, peoples. Very kind and funny with everybody. Very easy to reach him before the tour to be sure that the tour will be ok even with the manifestation. He propose us to do a tour to vina Del Mar also an other day. I really recommend Alex, if you want someone who will answer to all your questions and explain you very well everything. Thank alex

“El mejor guía en Chile! ”
Incluso en la situacíon en la que se encuentra Chile Alexander nos hizo el tour solamente para dos personas. No solo se merece 5 estrellas por ello sino que el tour estuvo muy completo lleno de historia, arte y muy buenas vistas. Todo ello con buenas fuentes, referenciado y con imagenes historicas. “Valparaiso Free Tour: Enjoy the Port City”
I came to Valparaíso during the protests in the city which is why not a lot of tourists where around. I was the only person who booked the tour and Alex did it anyway without any hesitation just with me. He gave me the perfect tour and I learned a lot about the history of the City, the Art and different influences. I can highly recommend the tour with Alex, because within all the chaos he gave me the chance to learn more about the beautiful city.

“Great tour during a time of unrests”
We arrived in Valparaiso during a dangerous and changing time, with protests everywhere across the country. But we wanted to try to get some impressions of the usual lively and beautiful city Valparaiso. Alex did a great job and showed us lots of beautiful places and footpaths in the ‚safe areas‘. We had a lot of fun with Alex and i would recommend to take this tour-guide. He made it possible and gave us a nice tour, while other providers canceled all their offers. Also the communication has been really nice and easy. Go for it.

Alex ha sido absolutamente encantador. El mejor guía que he tenido nunca. Tanto por su atención hacia nosotros y hacia el entorno, como por su entusiasmo a la hora de contarnos sobre Valparaíso. Puesto que ya había estado antes en Valpo por mi cuenta, se que la ruta que elegió es muy apropiada para conocwr todos los rincones interesantes y aprender de su historia en sus calles.
