But we'll focus on Jaffa while we walk through its cobblestone streets. I'll tell you why this place is so important for Christians, Jews, and Muslims. The city of Jaffa is so old that it was mentioned in the Bible under the name Joppa. We have evidence of humans inhabiting this area more than 4000 years ago, and since then it has been a very important port city through which empires and civilizations such as the Egyptians, Greeks, Crusaders, Ottomans, British, and even characters like Saladin and Napoleon passed through. Today, the neighborhood has a unique cultural diversity, in which Christians, Jews, and Muslims work together, making Jaffa a good example of coexistence.
