Things to do Free Spirit Tour Split
This tour operates with audio sets for each guest, which are MANDATORY. The price for an audio set is €2 per guest. Your guide will arrange everything at the meeting point. Please make sure you have changed at the beginning of the tour. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for each guest, especially in a crowded area like the Diocletian's Palace. That's why we opted to use the audio system on every tour. All of our tours are guided exclusively by certified guides with 500+ tours of experience. Explore Split and Croatia with a free tour, following the footsteps of Diocletian, a local peasant who rose to become a Roman emperor and a fierce persecutor of Christians. His palace, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is filled with history and secrets. Start at the Golden Gate, designed to defend the palace, and follow the main street to Peristyle, the central square where the emperor greeted his subjects. Nearby, see Jupiter's Temple and the emperor's mausoleum, now a cathedral. Explore the ancient cellars, rich with history, and end at the Riva waterfront, leaving you ready to explore Split's best spots, cuisine, and experiences.

“A great Walking Tour!”
Our guide Maria gave us a passionate tour of her hometown Split in a small group (only two guests). In the old town, we spent an hour and a half leisurely visiting the most interesting sights. With a sense of humor, she guided us through the different eras, told us interesting historical facts, and recommended the best places to eat authentic food. I would recommend Maria anytime.

Fantastic tour with Marina (spelling?). I booked on at the last minute as a solo traveller so was delighted that she could go ahead with it. My colleague joined on the day which hopefully made it worthwhile.
The tour was great. Very informative, engaging and entertaining too. Lots of information but not boring at all. Fascinating to learn about the varied history of Split and Croatia from 3000 years ago to the present day.
The buildings and streets are wonderful too and Marina really brought those alive for us.
Marina was a wonderful guide and the tour is highly recommended. Thanks!

“A wonderful experience with a great guide from Free Spirit Tour ”
It’s a great way to know the old town of Split through our awesome guide Marija. Even though it’s a free walking tour, we were provided with headsets that’s a great plus especially when we walked through jammed packed old town. Knowing the history along with some fun facts definitely enhanced our stay at Split. It’s a well 90-min walking tour (suggest to start in the beginning of your stay) and there’s even restaurants, cafe and gelato recommendations ^^ strongly suggest to do this tour to anyone who visits Split.

La guía se nos hizo un poco monótona. Sabemos que cada uno lleva el tour como quiere pero para nuestro gusto le faltó un poco de esas risas que suelen sacar otros guías, cotilleos antiguos de la historia.... Tampoco, debido a la ciudad, había mucho que contar, así que se nos hizo corto y monótono.

Marija was an excellent guide, who was very informative with great english. I just found out about free tours with this trip and will now look for them on other trips. We did 3 in different cities on this trip and all 3 were excellent. I know it is tip what you feel, but some people really should re evaluate the amount they give, as the tour was above what I expected.

Muy buen recorrido! Honestamente intentamos hacer el recorrido solos y fue un fracaso, nos perdimos un montón y no vimos gran detalle.
