This tour is an experience among natural landscapes, dedicated to the history, viticulture, traditions and legends of the people of the north of Montevideo. Discover the Uruguayan rural soul!
Our History and Nature Walking Tour of Colón is an experience that showcases the natural landscape, architecture, culture, folklore, and language of the area. Over the course of two and a half hours, we’ll explore the neighborhood like a local, immersing ourselves in the lifestyle of this historic, aristocratic residential area.
We’ll explore eight specialties within the field of history, as well as the historical and cultural heritage of various populations, with a special focus on the historical and cultural heritage of those segments of the Uruguayan, Argentine, and Brazilian populations that belong to the current Celtic, Latin, Friulian-Venetian, Julian, Lombard, Piedmontese, French, Asturian, Galician, and Portuguese ethnic groups, and the current Scottish and Irish Celtic ethnic groups, since these nine current ethnic groups make up the majority of the population born in the northern part of the Department of Montevideo.
