The tour itself was exceptionally well organised, well paced, and thoughtfully planned. Frank guided us through many of Melbourne's most iconic locations, including Federation Square, St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne Town Hall, Degraves Street, the famous laneways, Hosier Lane, Flinders Lane, Block Arcade, Collins Street, and many more hidden gems throughout the city. What impressed me most was the incredible depth of knowledge Frank shared. He explained the history behind Melbourne's development, the architecture of the buildings, the significance of the city's famous laneways, local traditions, street art, cafés, cultural influences, and countless interesting stories that you simply would not learn by walking around on your own. Every stop had a purpose, and every story added another layer to understanding Melbourne. Frank also struck the perfect balance between education and entertainment. The tour never felt like a history lecture. Instead, it felt like walking around the city with a knowledgeable local friend who genuinely wanted visitors to fall in love with Melbourne. His sense of humour kept everyone engaged, and he knew exactly when to add a joke, ask the group questions, or share interesting trivia that made us smile while still teaching us something new. One thing I particularly appreciated was how attentive Frank was to the group. He regularly checked that everyone was still together, ensured nobody was left behind, answered questions patiently, and made everyone feel included regardless of where they came from. The only suggestion I have is regarding communication before the tour starts. On our tour day, Federation Square was partially closed and cordoned off because of an event, making it difficult to locate the meeting point and our guide. It would be helpful if participants were given the guide's contact number, or at least an emergency contact, so guests can reach someone if they have difficulty finding the group. This small improvement would make an already excellent experience even better. Overall, this was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Frank is an outstanding tour guide and a fantastic ambassador for Melbourne. His professionalism, enthusiasm, friendliness, knowledge, and passion are exactly what visitors hope for when joining a walking tour. “What an outstanding 'free walking' tour.”

As a retired teacher of 37 years, I watched Frank deliver a master class in holding people's (a large group) attention, while navigating public City roads and walkways....in the pouring rain. His Tour had a balance between informative and anecdotal. The two and a half hours whisked by and we were sad to leave. Like all good raconteurs he amused us and held our interest from one stopping point to another. He squeezed in so much. We learned a lot about the beginnings of Melbourne from the questionable deal with aborigine tribes and the growth of farming and minerals extraction....to the modern movers and shakers, with a good dash of architecture thrown in. Frank referenced so many personalities, buildings, place and events etc. as we toured the City. He has a gift...what could have been a tedious history lesson was pure interest and entertainment, like we enjoyed with our favourite teachers in our past. Result: This was an excellent intro to an unfamilliar city; yes, we revisited spots the following day, like the Ned Kelly armour in the Victorian Library and China Town; we found out why Melbourne people love their City so much...Frank was a superb ambassador for the City. I would really recommend this tour. Our guide Frank was fantastic and I learned so much as well as getting my bearings. The group was lovely and Frank encouraged us to chat.

“Great introduction to Melbourne ”

In 2 hours Sam gave us a greater introduction to the history and culture of Melbourne. The sites we covered and Sam’s commentary were all relevant and interesting. They laid the groundwork for our stay and gave us a number of areas to return to later. Very worthwhile tour!

“Information conveyed with humour ”

The tour was great. Sam showed us the most important sightseeing highlights and explained what we could do in about 2 hours. He also conveyed some historical details in a very humorous way. I can recommend it 110%!

“Amazing”

So, a few weeks back when we hit up Melbourne, we jumped on one of these walking tours. Now, word on the street was to try and snag a tour with a dude named Sam. But hey, we rolled the dice and ended up with his sister, Zoe. And lemme tell ya, no regrets whatsoever! Zoe was an absolute legend from the get-go. She greeted everyone like we were old mates and actually took a few minutes to have a quick chat with each of us – a seriously nice touch! The tour itself? Totally buzzing! Zoe's got this awesome, high-energy vibe and a seriously cool way about her. She showed us some sweet spots in Melbourne that we probably wouldn't have stumbled upon ourselves. Big thanks for that, Zoe! We had an absolute blast!
