Things to do Tallinn Medieval City Wall Tour

In the Middle Ages, Tallinn had one of the greatest defensive systems in Northern Europe. Now, it has been declared a UNESCO Site and is considered one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses. On this tour we will walk along the wall, explore its beautiful towers and remains of the bastions built in the 17th century. You will know a lot about medieval warfare techniques & their historical development. We finish our walk at the Town Hall square, where carnivals, jousting tournaments and punishments took place in the Middle Ages. Along the walk, we will discuss earlier generations' way of life. You will know how people measured the distance between towers, what medicines they used for treating love pains & drunkenness, how gossiping women were punished, why journeymen were obliged to travel, and the penalty for minting faked coins. Plenty of medieval curiosities await to be told. Welcome!
