Things to do Tour in Fotografiska Museum of Tallinn with the Insider

Fotografiska is one of my favorite places in Tallinn. It is both peaceful and vibrant at the same time. The first Fotografiska museum was founded in Stockholm. Although its founders initially had no plans to expand, today, Fotografiska is the world's largest privately owned art museum by several measures - and some Estonians deserve the credit for that! Fotografiska Tallinn typically organizes around 10 exhibitions per year, with 2-3 running simultaneously. Our tour will include two parts: the story behind Fotografiska Tallinn and its concept, followed by an introduction to the works of the artists currently exhibited. Artists or their representatives often visit Tallinn for the opening of their exhibitions, giving me a chance to meet them in person and learn the stories behind their work. While I appreciate the artistic technique, I am particularly drawn to the impulses and ideas that drive the artists' creations. Currently, we are hosting Photo Synthesis by Shepard Fairey, a solo exhibition by the legendary sports photographer Lembit Peegel, and a show by the Chinese artist Feng Li. Admission to the museum costs 13–17 euros, and it is free for children under 15.
