Explore the city's most iconic squares, and visit El Rosario church and the National Library, the most modern in Central America! What will we visit? -Plaza Gerardo Barrios (Meeting point in front of the National Library ) -Plaza Libertad -El Rosario Church (Entrance NOT included: $1 USD for locals, $2 USD for foreigners) -Metropolitan Cathedral -Archbishop Romero’s Crypt -Central Market Keep in mind: *Wear comfortable shoes for a 3-hour walk. *Bring 1 liter of water or buy it in a nearby store. “Informative tour”
My guides Abigail and Maria (?) were friendly and gave us many information about the city as well as their personal experiences with gang members. I was bringing a suitcase with me and the guides were helpful in helping me deposit all my luggage’s in the locker at the national library. It was an afternoon well spent!

“What a great intro to San Salvador”
This was a fantastic tour led by a fantastic guide, Carlos. I enjoyed learning about the history of the country and city from a local. I also enjoyed being able to spend time inside several sites during the tour, particularly the Church of the Rosary. Carlos was a very knowledgeable, entertaining, and personable guide. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who visits the city.

Carlos was absolutely wonderful and a joy to be around. Learned many things, played loteria, tried new things, even helped learn a bit of spanish. Carlos is good looking, charismatic, knowledgeable, and just a great person to tour with. We learned a lot from him. “Fantastic tour of historic centre!”
We did the San Salvador historical and cultural tour with Carlos, and it was so informative, interesting and entertaining too. He was a very engaging guide, with lots of knowledge about the fascinating history of San Salvador, as well as some really cool personal anecdotes. The highlight was getting to visit the oldest bar in the city and trying out some local liquor! Something unique about the tour with Travelling Souls is a game of lotto you play throughout the tour, which adds an extra element of fun. I would highly recommend this walking tour, it's one of the best we've done all over the world!

“Didn't turn up ”
Booked a walking tour and unfortunately the guide never turned up at the agreed meeting point.
To their credit, they did respond once contacted and were polite. They offered to arrange an Uber to a different meeting point, but by that stage we had already waited, reorganised our plans, and moved on with our day.
They explained the issue was due to a staff member being sick, but from a customer perspective that’s something that should be managed internally without impacting the experience.
There also seemed to be confusion around the correct meeting point, which I had to clarify myself by sending a screenshot of the booking details.
Overall, while the communication after the fact was courteous, the experience was disappointing and disrupted our plans.

Nuestra guía fue Azucena. Muy predispuesta y explicaba claramente los sucesos del siglo XX y XXI. Creemos que hubiera sido positivo tener más información sobre los comienzos del país, desde la llegaba de los españoles hasta la creacion de la nación.
Por otro lado, Azucena tiene un excelente humor y es muy amena, hizo que todos congeniemos rápidamente y nos hizo probar comida local :)

I am satisfied with the tour! Giovanni came on time, well prepared and in a good mood. We discovered the historical city center together. Giovanni gave us full info about the geographical and cultural becoming of Salvador. We visited the main landmarks of the capital city and took a glimpse of the local market where we tried Naranjilla. At the end of the tour, we got recommendations about the food and other interesting places where we could continue our day. If you want to get a perfect mix of historical facts and personal experience, I can recommend u Giovanni!
